Chapter 61
"Kristen, you need to get up," AJ said the next morning as he gently shook Kristen. Kristen opened her eyes and saw AJ standing next to the bed already showered and dressed. Kristen didn't say anything just got up and slipped on her clothes from the day before. About an hour later after they ate breakfast they went to Kristen's apartment. Kristen opened the door to see Nick and Toni watching cartoons.
"What are you two doing up so early?" Kristen asked tiredly.
"Well, I wanted to say good-bye to my best friend and if I can't sleep in neither can Nick," Toni said.
"That works," Kristen said as she left to go get in the shower.
"Looks like you kept her up all night," Nick said with a smile. AJ rolled his eyes and sat down on the couch and watched cartoons with them while Kristen was getting ready. When Kristen got out of the shower she pulled on her black wind breaker pants that had white and gray stripes on the side and a white t-shirt. She put on her make-up and pulled her hair into a high pony tail on top of her head. She then put her make-up and hair supplies in her large duffel bag that had all of her clothes in it for when she was on tour. She grabbed her socks and sneakers and went back into the living room and sat down next to AJ to put them on. When she put them on she noticed that everyone was looking at her.
"What?" Kristen asked questioningly.
"You're not talking," Toni said.
"So, I'm not in a talkative mood," Kristen said getting up and going in the kitchen to look through the medicine cabinet.
"You feeling okay?" Toni asked following her.
"I'm fine. I'm so sure don't we have any midol or anything," Kristen asked searching through all the medicine.
"No, and besides since when do you get cramps?"
"Since now and I'm not even on my fucking period and this totally sucks."
"You're probably just nervous or something. I would be too if I were going to be on stage dancing in front of thousands of people even if they weren't there for me," Toni said.
"You get butterflies in your stomach not cramps, Toni," Kristen said leaving the kitchen. She looked at the clock and it was a quarter to seven. "Shit, I'm going to be late," Kristen said running to her room and getting her duffel bag and backpack. "Are you coming with me and AJ?" Kristen asked as AJ took her bag from her and grabbed his car keys.
"Of course we are," Toni said as they left the apartment. They all got into the car and AJ drove to the studio where the buses would be. When they got there Kristen noticed she was the last one to arrive. AJ gave her bags to the bus driver who put them on the bus. Kristen gave Nick a hug and then gave Toni a hug. "What am I supposed to do without you until you get back?" Toni asked.
"What do you mean?" Kristen asked.
"I mean, I'm going to be so lonely in our apartment without you."
"That is why you are going to come and live with me," Nick said with a smile. Toni looked at Nick weird before she spoke again.
"You can't leave me alone with Nick. I love him and all but if I spend that much time with him I'll get sick of him," she said as Nick gave her an insulted look.
"When Angela gets back call her up and I'm sure she will do something with you."
"Yeah but we're not really friends."
"So call Cassie up. You two used to be friends."
"Used to being the keyword until she hurt you now she's a bitch."
"Nice words but I can't help you there," Kristen said as she gave Toni another hug then went up to AJ.
"Here," AJ said giving her a gift bag.
"What's this?" Kristen asked.
"It's a cell phone and pager that way you can call me whenever. I'll pay for the bill on it as long as you don't call to Japan," AJ said as Kristen's eyes started to water. AJ pulled her close to him and gave her a tight hug.
"I'm going to miss you so much AJ."
"I know but this is the easy time remember. When you come back for two weeks you'll be leaving again for two months," AJ said repeating what Kristen told him the night before. He lifted her chin up then met his lips with hers as he kissed her. Kristen separated from him then went and got on the bus. The bus driver closed the door and started driving away. AJ watched the bus until it was out of sight then turned to walk towards his car.
"Bone, you've been through this plenty of times with your other girlfriends. It shouldn't be so hard," Nick said.
"Yeah, well she's different from my ex's."
"How?"
"She's more fragile. It's like she can break easier. She's a lot more sweeter and she's so beautiful."
"Um...okay, and her probably be good in bed has nothing to do with it at all?" Nick asked sarcastically.
"She is good," AJ said softly.
"Excuse me?" Toni asked since she heard what AJ said. "You and Kristen have had sex
before and she never told me! This better have been last night and she just didn't tell me cause she didn't have the time!" Toni yelled practically freaking out.
"No, it was about a month ago."
"A month and she never told me! I am so sure I tell her when me and Nick have sex!"
"You tell her when we have sex!" Nick yelled.
"Yeah, so."
"So, it's not like I call AJ up or any of the other guys every time we have sex."
"So that's the difference between us. I'm female, you're male. I tell my bestfriend everything and you tell yours nothing," Toni said with a smile until she remembered her and Kristen's conversation in the kitchen. "AJ, did you and Kristen use protection when you guys had sex?" she asked seriously.
"Yeah, of course, why do you ask?"
"Thank God. I was just making sure like Kristen makes sure me and Nick use protection," Toni said as she wiped the thought she had from her brain and got in AJ's car.
"Was that your boyfriend?" TJ asked on the bus. During rehearsals him and Kristen had become pretty good friends but they never talked about relationships before. On the bus there was Britney, her, TJ, Jerry, another male dancer and another female dancer.
"AJ? Yeah that would be my boyfriend," Kristen said.
"A Backstreet Boy huh? How did you manage that one? I'm sure millions of girls would kill to be in your shoes."
"He had a very hard time trying to manage it not me that's all I have to say. You a Backstreet Boy fan or something?"
"No, my little sister is. She always says she's going to marry AJ. I guess that's out of the question huh?"
"Who knows. Don't you have a girlfriend?"
"Nope. I've been touring with Britney ever since she was an opening act for 'N Sync so I haven't been home much. I don't want to be in a relationship if I can't spend very much time with a girl."
"Well, I'm experiencing that now with AJ. Did you guys already assign bunks? I'm not feeling too good so I want to lie down and get some sleep before the concert."
"Yeah, you're bunk is under mine I think," TJ said pointing to her bunk. Kristen crawled in and shut the curtain. She closed her eyes as she slowly fell asleep.
