Chapter 68
AJ just sat there for a second staring at Toni. He kept opening his mouth to say something but then would shut it again before he got even a single word out. "Okay," he finally said after a couple of minutes. "I must have some kind of a hearing problem because I could have sworn you just said that Kristen was pregnant," AJ said then started laughing.
"I did say she was pregnant and it's not funny." AJ stopped laughing and then had a dead serious look on his face when he spoke again.
"Who...who is the father," AJ asked with his voice a little shaky.
"That is a stupid question to ask AJ. You are," Toni said as she saw AJ's face turn a pale white. She saw his eyes role up into his head and he fell over out of his chair onto the floor as he passed out. "AJ?" Toni asked questioningly and not receiving a response which freaked Toni out. "Oh my God," Toni said as she ran to the phone and dialed Nick's cell phone number. "Damn it Nick pick up!" Toni yelled into the phone on the fifth ring.
"Hello?" Nick asked a couple rings later.
"What the hell took you so long to answer!" Toni screamed at him.
"I didn't know where you put my phone when you got back so I couldn't find it. Why what's wrong?"
"I killed AJ!!" she screamed.
"What the hell do you mean you killed AJ?"
"I killed him! He's laying like dead on the floor! I called his name and he wouldn't answer!" Toni yelled spazing out.
"What did you do to him?" Nick asked not really concerned since he knew for a fact AJ wasn't dead.
"I told him Kristen was pregnant and I saw his eyes roll up in his head and he hit the floor! Oh my God I knew I should have let Kristen tell him then he could have died on her and not me! Kristen is going to kill me not only for telling AJ but for killing him too and now I'm going to burn in hell for this!" Toni said really fast as she was almost on the verge of tears.
"Toni chill out he's not dead he just..."Nick began when AJ sat up off the floor and was interuppted by Toni.
"No shit he's not dead! He's a fucking zombie now!"
"Toni he's not..." Nick began when Toni interuppted him freaking out more than before.
"He's going to kill me for killing him! They say ghosts can't hurt you but zombies sure as hell can! Nick get your ass here or you won't have a girlfriend when AJ gets through with me! No forget it! I'm getting out of here or I'll be dead by the time you get here!" Toni yelled hanging up the phone. Nick hung up his phone as he started laughing his ass off. After he finally calmed down of laughing he grabbed his car keys and headed out the door and drove towards AJ's house. In the mean time while Nick was driving to AJ's Toni was still spazing out about AJ being a zombie. AJ stood up off the ground and began walking towards Toni to try and figure out what her problem was and Toni took off running towards the kitchen and grabbed a butcher knife and held it out in front of her towards AJ. "Listen AJ I didn't mean it! Please don't kill me! I love you and I just thought that you should know!" Toni yelled as she burst out in tears. AJ stood there very confused looking at her trying to figure out what she was talking about. "I know Kristen's going to have your baby and I would like to live to see it and to see me and Nick get married and to have his babies so please I'm begging you don't kill me!"
"What the hell are you talking about?" AJ asked as he rubbed his head where he hit it on the floor.
"I killed you and now you're going to kill me!" Toni said as she cried some more. AJ stood there staring at her weird when Nick walked in the door. He saw Toni standing there in tears with a butcher knife in front of her and he started busting up laughing. Toni looked up at him with her tear streaked face.
"What is she talking about?" AJ asked turning around to see Nick. Nick just laughed some more and went up to Toni taking the knife out of her hands and putting it away. He wrapped his arms around Toni and could tell she was shaking and he started busting up laughing.
"How do you find this funny! AJ is trying to kill me and you're not doing anything about it!"
"Toni calm down he's not dead."
"Yes he is! I saw him hit the floor! He died of shock! I killed him!" Toni yelled and now AJ was laughing at her.
"Toni he just fainted, he's not dead." Toni looked at Nick for a second then looked at AJ. She went up to AJ and started hitting him.
"Don't ever do that to me again or next time I really will kill you!" Toni yelled at him.
"Toni you should have heard yourself!" Nick said as he laughed some more.
"Shut up Nick!"
"Hate to break this little deal up but I think I need some explaining," AJ said as he sat down drinking the beer he had gotten from the kitchen.
"Oh yeah AJ this is a great time to be drinking," Toni said sarcastically.
"Don't start on me Toni. Now how can she be pregnant? We used protection."
"Well obviously a condom wasn't good enough. And the baby is yours because you're the only person she has had sex with for the past year or so."
"I never said it wasn't mine. I trust her and know it is. What I don't understand is why she would keep this a secret from me and then want to break up with me for it."
"She doesn't think that you'll be there for her. She thinks you won't want the responsibility of having her and a baby while you are on tour with the rest of the guys," Toni explained.
"Now why would she think that?" AJ asked.
"Oh come on man, wouldn't you?" Nick asked. "I mean think about it. You're gone away for more than half of the year and you wouldn't be able to be with either one of them as much as you wanted to. She probably thinks that since she will have to get through taking care of a baby by herself that she has to go through carrying and having the baby," Nick said then received a weird look from Toni. "What?" he asked.
"When did you get so smart?" Toni asked then turned back to AJ. "You can't let her break up with you AJ no matter what she says because she still loves you."
"It's getting late, I think you two should head home. I have some thinking to do," AJ said as he walked Nick and Toni to the door.
"Alright, later Bone, call us if you need to talk," Nick said as he wrapped his arm around Toni as they walked to his car. Later that night Toni and Nick were laying in Nick's bed as Toni cuddled up to Nick with her head resting on Nick's chest.
"What are we going to do about Kristen and AJ?" Toni asked Nick.
"There's nothing we can do except try and make Kristen come to her senses about this whole thing," Nick said then was silent for a couple of minutes. "You know that was pretty funny about you thinking you killed AJ," Nick said with a laugh.
"No it wasn't! AJ really could have killed me and then I hope you would be morning over my death because you thought it was some joke."
"AJ wouldn't kill you. But if you were to die some how I wouldn't be able to live without you. So I can promise you that I will morn greatly as long as you promise me that if and when I get you pregnant you won't keep it a secret from me because I would never leave you."
"I promise, night Nick," Toni said as she gave me a kiss.
"Night," Nick said as he stayed awake as he watched Toni sleep. 'I hope someday that we'll get married she will be the one to give birth to my child,' he thought to himself as he slowly dozed off with his arms wrapped around Toni.
