Chapter 73
By the time they were finished with rehearsals it was pitch black outside. Kristen met TJ out by his car so he could give her a ride back to Howie's place. When they got there TJ walked Kristen to the door. "What are you doing tomorrow night?" he asked before Kristen went inside.
"Nothing, probably just staying home, why?"
"Because it's New Year's Eve. There's a party going on tomorrow night, why don't you go with me? It'll be fun."
"Who all is going to be there?"
"Just about everybody I think."
"Define your definition of everybody."
"No, because then you won't come."
"You're right. AJ's going to be there isn't he?" Kristen asked as TJ nodded his head. "I think I'll just stay at home then."
"I don't think so. You're going, you can't miss out on everything because you don't want to see AJ."
"You think that we should still be together don't you?" Kristen asked.
"It doesn't matter what I think. You wouldn't listen to me anyways," TJ said walking away back to his car. Kristen went into the house and she found Howie in the living room watching TV so she sat down next to him on the couch.
"Are you going to that party tomorrow night?" she asked him.
"Yeah, everyone is. You thinking about going?"
"TJ thinks I should I go but I don't know if I should since AJ is going to be there."
"You still like him, so go. Maybe you'll come to your senses about all of this and make up with him."
"Don't count on it. What time is the party tomorrow?"
"Eight o'clock."
"Alright, night Howie," Kristen said giving him a kiss on the cheek and getting up to go to her room. She got changed into her pajamas and crawled into bed. Before turning out the light she pulled open the drawer in the night stand and took out the framed picture of her and AJ and stared at it for a couple of minutes until she felt tears well up in her eyes. This time refusing to shed tears over him she put the picture back in the drawer face down and turned off the light going to sleep.
The next day Kristen was lazy all day up until about two hours before the party when she got in the shower after calling TJ to let him know that she would get a ride to the party from Howie. When she got out of the shower she wrapped a towel around her body and went to her closet to pick something out to wear. She was going through her clothes trying to figure out what to wear when she decided that she would dress a little risqué that night. She put on her short velvet mini skirt that went about an inch below her butt and a black low cut velvet shirt that had a marroon colored design on it. She put her hair up in a high pony tail and put glitter on her eyes and chest. She then pulled on her velvet knee highs and velvet platform shoes to match. "Hey you ready to go?" Howie asked coming into her room. "Whoa," he said when he saw what she was wearing.
"Do I look okay?" Kristen asked him.
"Um....yeah you look absolutely fantastic. So....uh....you ready to go?" he asked again.
"Yeah," Kristen said following Howie out of the room and to his car. When they got to the party there was already about thirty people there. Toni was dancing with Nick when she saw Kristen and Howie walk in the door. She stopped dancing and turned Nick around so that he could see Kristen.
"What the hell is she wearing?" Toni asked him.
"I don't know but she looks pretty good in it."
"She looks like a slut!" Toni yelled grabbing Nick's arm as she walked towards Kristen. "Kristen," she said to get Kristen's attention when they approached her. Kristen just looked at Toni then walked away blowing her off. Kristen went off in another direction while Howie went to find AJ.
"Did Kristen come?" AJ asked when Howie went up to him.
"Oh yeah she came," Howie said funny.
"What's with the tone of voice?"
"I'm taking it you haven't seen her yet then."
"No, why where is she?" AJ asked looking around.
"Right over there," Howie said pointing in Kristen's direction. AJ followed where he was pointing and his eyes about popped out of his head when he saw what Kristen was wearing.
"Damn! Why the fuck can't I have her now!" AJ yelled.
"I don't know but you might want to cover yourself up a little," Toni said as her and Nick went up to him. AJ looked at Toni confused for a second and then looked down and saw the bulge in his pants.
"Ah shit, I doubt she'll help me with my little problem huh," AJ commented while Nick started busting up laughing.
"I doubt it," Toni said.
"Don't worry Bone, I'm sure every guy here is having that problem when they take a look at Kristen," Nick said.
"Excuse me?" Toni asked. "You better be the exception to every guy."
"Of course I am. I think you should borrow that outfit from her and where for me," Nick said with a smile.
"Only in your wildest fantasys," Toni commented. "Come dance with me some more," Toni said dragging Nick back into the crowd.
"I'll be right back D. I'm going to go talk to Kristen," AJ said beginning to walk a way.
"Good luck man." AJ went up to Kristen where she was dancing with TJ.
"Hey can we talk for a second?" he asked Kristen.
"No, because we have nothing to talk about," Kristen responded with an attitude then walked away. TJ followed her and put his arms around her and danced with her again as a slow song came on.
"Why do you do that to him?" he asked.
"I just don't want to talk to him. We have nothing to say to each other."
"Wrong. I'm sure he has plenty to say to you. You really need to talk to him. I know he wants to help you out."
"TJ I don't need help with anything."
"Then you just believe you can get through everything on your own," TJ said as they continued to dance. Kristen danced with Howie and Kevin once or twice during the night but most of the time she would dance with TJ. She knew that he thought the same way as everyone else about what she should do but she also knew he would be there for her no matter what she did even if he didn't support her decisions. Kristen was slow dancing again with TJ when she began thinking about AJ and her eyes began to water. TJ felt Kristen's tears on his shoulder since he was wearing a wife beater. "You okay?" he asked.
"Yeah, I'm fine. I was just thinking about some stuff." TJ didn't bother to ask what since he knew she was thinking about AJ. It was about eleven o'clock when TJ pulled away from Kristen.
"Listen I have to go. Britney is having her own New Year's party and I promised I would show up. Do you want to stay here or I can take you home," he said.
"No, I think I'll stay here for awhile."
"Alright, I'll see you later," TJ said giving Kristen a hug and a kiss on the cheek. TJ left and Kristen began walking around through the crowd when a guy approached her.
"Hey, want a beer?" the guy asked handing her a beer.
"Yeah, thanks," Kristen said taking it from him.
"So, was that your boyfriend you've been dancing with all night?" he asked.
"Oh, no he's just a really good friend."
"So do you have a boyfriend?" he asked with a smile.
"Shouldn't I get your name first before I answer any more questions?"
"Oh sorry. I'm Brad and you would be..." he asked holding out his hand shaking Kristen's hand.
"Kristen, and no I don't have a boyfriend, we broke up on Christmas."
"Oh I'm sorry that must have been really bad timing."
"You could say that."
"So you want to dance?"
"Sure," Kristen said taking his arm as they walked into the middle of the crowd and began dancing. With in no time Kristen had finished the beer Brad had given her and she was already half way done with her third one. AJ was dancing with Toni when he saw Kristen take a drink from the beer can.
"What the fuck is she doing!" AJ yelled as he went running up to Kristen. Toni looked at him weird trying to figure out what is problem was when Nick came up to Toni and started dancing with her so she just ignored it. "What do you think you are doing?" AJ asked taking the beer can out of Kristen's hand.
"Hey! Give it back!" Kristen yelled at him half way drunk.
"How many have you had?"
"I don't know?"
"Fuck! What the hell do you think you're doing drinking?!?" AJ yelled at her.
"Lay off of her. She can drink as much as she wants," Brad said sticking up for Kristen and Kristen just smiled at AJ.
"No, she can't! You cannot be drinking! You can do serious harm to our baby!"
"Oh fuck off AJ," Kristen said walking away with Brad.
"Are you pregnant?" Brad asked her.
"No. He just doesn't think that people under 21 should drink he's a hypocrit," Kristen lied as she took Brad's full beer can from him and began drinking it. When it hit midnight Kristen was completely wasted. AJ stood to the side as he watched in pain as Kristen and Brad kissed in celebration of the new year. Toni saw AJ so she went up to him to talk to him.
"What's wrong?" she asked.
"That's what's wrong," AJ said pointing to Kristen. Toni looked and saw Kristen still kissing Brad.
"Oh I'm so sorry AJ."
"Yeah so am I. You know what I think I'm going to go grab my coat and get out of here. There's no reason for me to stay."
"Okay. I'll talk to you tomorrow or something," Toni said giving him a hug. AJ went to the back room and grabbed his coat then went back to the main room where everyone was at. He saw Kristen again with Brad but this time they weren't only kissing but they were making out like they were the only two people in the room. He stood there and watched getting pissed as he saw Kristen wrap her leg around him and he had one hand up the back of her skirt grabbing her ass while his other hand was massaging her chest. AJ knew that wasn't the way Kristen would ever act so he went up to them and tapped Brad on the shoulder. Brad turned around and let go of Kristen who fell straight to the floor.
"Listen just because you can't get anything from her doesn't mean no one else can," Brad said rudely.
"She doesn't want jack shit from you! You decide to get a pregnant girl drunk off her ass and then take advantage of her!"
"And what's it to you?" Brad asked shoving AJ. AJ wasn't going to put up with it so he punched him as hard as he could in the jaw knocking him over. AJ then got on top of him and started beating the shit out of him until he felt arms go around him and pull him up off the floor. AJ saw Toni trying to help Kristen up off the floor but she kept falling as soon as she would stand up then he noticed that Kevin was the one holding him back.
"You ever fucking lay a finger on her again and I'll put you six feet under," AJ said as Kevin released him and he went to take Kristen from Toni.
"Fine see if I care. You can keep your little slut," Brad said as AJ punched him again for his comment. He got Howie's house keys from him then picked Kristen up in his arms, who was half passed out, and left the party. When he pulled into Howie's drive way he got out of the car and went to the passenger side to get Kristen. He saw that she was completely passed out and picked her up again and walked into Howie's house. He went upstairs and laid Kristen on the bed while he got her pajamas out of her drawer. He then pulled her shoes and knee highs off and carefully undressed her and put her pajamas on her as tears came out of his eyes. He then pulled the blankets back on the bed and placed her under them. He began pulling the blankets up and then stopped at her waist. He lifted her shirt up to show her bare stomach then placed his hand on her stomach that was slowly starting to show but you could barely tell.
"Please God don't let our baby pay for her mistakes," AJ prayed silently. He pulled the blankets all the way up to Kristen's neck then sat down on the edge of the bed. "I love you," he whispered kissing her softly on the cheek as a tear fell from his eyes and landed on her sleeping face.
