Toni drove off, not knowing where she was going in just boxers and a wife beater. She found her self pull up into Kristen's driveway. She ran up to the door and started to knock on it, she had no shoes on so she was qute cold
"TONI WHAT THE HELL IS YOUR PROBLEM!" Howie said pulling Toni inside when he saw what she was wearing.
"Everything Howie, I wish my dad would just be sopportive and a little bit more daddy like, not fucking crazy like" Toni said while the tears fell
"Listen get in you car, go home and put some clothes on then go to your room. Here where this for the time being" Howie said handing her a pair of Kristen's sweat pants and a big shirt. "Kristen wont mind" He said as Toni slip it on "If anything gets out of hand call me and I will come get cha" He said
"Thanks Howie" Toni said hugging him.
"Anything for ya babe!" He said as she left, she smiled and got into the car. She drove home and went inside.
"Are you ok baby?" Patty asked rushing to Toni when she saw her come in.
"Yeah mommy, I am fine, where is everyone?" Toni asked when she saw the bare living room.
"Everyone is in bed. Nick lock his self up in the room with Nikki since Noel was screaming at me and Noey and then He started to yell at Nikki cause she was crying" Patty said, tears went down Toni's face. "Oh baby, everything is going to be fine. Fuck Daddy. You got Nick, Noey, Grandma and Grandpa Carter, Mrs. and Mr. Carter All the Carter kids, and most of all you got me" Patty said wrapping her arms around Toni and holding her close.
"Mommy, I just want him to love my baby like he loves me, I dont know, I just want to lay down. Good Night" Toni said kissing her mommy and walked to the back. She went to open the door and it was locked. She grabed the key on the top of the door and went in. Nick was laying on the bed with Nikki laying on his chest. She sucked her thumb as he ran his hand down her head to the middled of her back, and back up. She saw Toni come in and flew up waving her arms in front of her. Toni came over and picked her up.
"Oh my baby" She said kissing her cheek. Nick sat up and looked at her. "Hey baby" She said kisising him
"Hey babe, are you ok?" He asked
"Yes, fine. I am going to put her to bed" Toni said walking out. Nikki was already half way asleep by the time Toni got in her room. She laid her down and she fell asleep, well Toni thought she did. Toni walked out and closed the door. She walked back down the hallway as Noel came down the stairs, they looked at each other and Toni went into the room. Noel slowly walked down the stairs and made it seem like he was going to the kitchen. He grab a bottle of water and walked to Nikki's room. He open the door and saw her looking at him through the bars. He sat the bottle down and picked Nikki up.
"Well aint you about the cutest thing I have ever seen, well your mommy was alot cuter but she was mine, you are hers" He said craddling her in his arms. He placed the bottle in her mouth, and smiled at her.
"You mommy always had to have a bottle of water before she went to sleep or she would cry through the night, well she had to have someone sing to her too" He said as she drank the water. "Do you like to be sung to?" He asked as he cleared his throat and took the bottle of her mouth, "Lets see huh?" He said as she giggled.
~*Toni's room*~
"Do you hear Nikki gigglin?" Toni said getting up
"No?" Nick asked looking up from his drawing, Toni got up and went down the hall. She saw Nikki's door up and a dim light coming from it. She walked over to the door and saw her father sitting there with Nikki in his arms.
"Wanna hear your mommy's favortie song?" He asked to the giggling baby. "Gosh you giggle just like your mommy used too. You are so much like her, you are beautiful ya know, anyways, back to the song!" He said "Rain drops on roses and wiskers on kittens" He sang softly. "Bright Copper kittles and warm mittens, Brown paper packages tied up with string, these are a few of my favortie things, thats all I remember, it has been so long" He said "But one of her other favorites was" Toni smiled sweetly as she listen to her daddy, Nick came down the hall way and watched too "Hey harvely man, hey dravery man, you've all got your stiley but rather your never fully dress without a smile!" He sang making her laugh really hard. "and there was, Baby love, my baby love, I need cha oh how I need ya, when all ya do is treat me bad, break my heart and leave me sad, tell me what did I do wrong, to make you stay away so long, cause baby love my baby love be missin ya miss kissin ya" He sang sweetly as Nikki started to fall asleep. He picked her up and placed her in bed. He brought the covers up to her chin and kissed her head. Toni and Nick took off down the hall so he wouldnt see them. Toni peeked out the door as Noel came down the hall with a big smile on his face.
~*Christmas Eve*~
Everyone gathered around the big table to say grace. Toni and Noel had not said one word to each other, and Patty was getting pissed.
"Dad I need to talk to you" Toni said as dinner was almost done
"Yeah, I think we need too" He said standing up and grabing Nikki. Everyone looked at him really funny as he carried the baby off. Toni followed him to Nikki's room. He placed Nikki down in her crib and turn around as Toni slam the door.
"Dad we cant keep going on like this" Toni said
"I know, it aint good for the baby or you" He said looking down at Nikki and smiling
"What?!?" Toni asked confused as hell.
"Toni I am sorry for what I said, if I dont let this go then, I cant be a grand daddy to this baby and that will kill me to lose the chance to have be there to watch a smaller Toni grow up to be the beautiful women standing infront of me" He said as tears welled up in his eyes. "I love you Toni, and I am sorry" He said wrapping his arms around Toni and hugging her.
"Oh daddy it is fine, I love you too. And I want you to be there to help me raise my baby, I am sorry I said mean things I love you so much" She said crying.
"She is such a beautiful girl" He said as they looked down at the sleeping baby.
~*Christmas Day*~
The next morning everyone woke up to Nikki's screaming self. Toni picked Nikki up as she heard all the kids coming down the stairs. About 5 mins later everyone was gathered around the tree opening presents.
"Ok the one that got the most was Nikki, and she is only 6 months! I am 11, I should of got more!" Noey said
"Yeah come on this is not fair!" Aaron said
"Oh shut your mouths" Grandma said as Nikki sat in her lap playing with a doll, Noey had gotten her, Toni open the little box Nick had gotten her. It was a silver #1 mommy charm on a thin silver chain.
"NICK!" She said as she put it on and kissed him
"You like it?" He asked
"I love it!" She said kissing him once more "Here" She said handing his a box. He open it and there was a basket ball in it. He took it out and it was signed by Micheal Jordan.
"Whoa! Where did you get this?" He asked looking at the ball
"I saw Micheal at wal mart in the basketball section and I ask him to sign one and thats how I got it" Toni explain
"Thank you sooooo much" he said kissing her.
"Oh Mrs. Ortiz!" Nick said flying up and going to the back. He brought out the drawing that was wrapped in white paper. He handed it to her
"Oh Nick you and Toni already gotten me a necklace. I dont need more" Patty said opening it. Her eyes lit up with she saw the drawing, It was Nikki playing with her toys on the floor. On the bottom coner it said 'To Patty, I thought maybe you would like a picture of your favorite grandbaby, Love always, Nick'
"Oh Nick, thank you so much" She said wrapping her arms around Nick and hugging him.
"Do you like it?"
"I love it" She said as everyone looked at it, it did look just like Nikki.
