David B. Lawler
In June 1850, David B. Lawler , a businessman active in Spring Grove's founding, erected a bluestone sphinx on a gray granite base to honor his parents Matthew and Ann of Philadelphia who died in the 1830's and two broghers who died young. Later inscriptions record the deaths of Lawler and his wife Augusta.
