Set

Set was a premature birth and tore himself out of the womb in his eagerness to be born. Son of Geb and Nut, he was a disgusting sight to the Egyptians as he has white skin and red hair.

He is identified with evil, drought, dryness, destruction and all the other negative aspects of a desert.

He is responsible fo heat, suffering, hunger and thirst.

Set is also depicted as a pig like creature with an erect tail. Every month it was believed that he ate the moon (the hiding place of Osiris). See Osiris for more about Set.
