Fafnir

Loki killed Fafnir's brother 'Otr' (an otter) and had to pay compensation by covering his skin with gold. Fafnir and his brother 'Regin' fought over the gold until Fafnir turned himself into a dragon so that he could keep it all for himself. Both brothers were later killed by Sigurd (Sigfried). This story is told as part of Wagner's 'Ring Cycle'.
