~*~Recognizing Motivations~*~

Searching myself I sometimes find
A shallowness I thought I'd left behind
As a child
Humans are basically selfish creatures
So sad this is our most outstanding feature
As a species
I strive to leave all that behind
Inner peace and strength to find
In my soul

~*~Hindsight is 20/20~*~

"Oh what a tangled web we weave
When first we practice to deceive"
Ourselves
It's so easy not to question
What motivates our actions
Until we are crying and confused
Intensions can be pure as gold
They're still apt to tarnish like brass
When the story is told
Of the pain that was so rash

~*~Warning~*~

Becareful what you wish for
Better think it through
Before you open up that door
Understand what motivates you
Don't give in to your surface wants
Without examining your true inner needs
Your wish just may come back to haunt
Because you planted poison seeds
It's perfectly natural to desire
But strive to make your wants realistic
You don't want to light an uncontrolable fire
And helplessly watch your world go ballistic
