The year is 1816 and this day is September
the 16 th. And it is a wedding day. A great day
for The marriage of Radney Knight and Mary
"Polly" Simmons.
It's rather a nice day for the beginning of the
one of the seasons when all the leaves are
changing and it is that time of the year when
we have cooler weather one day and very
hot the next.
In the mean time less go forth with what
do know. We do know the date of the marriage.
We know they were married in Logan Cou-
nty,Kentucky. Where they lived at untill after
a few of their children were born.
Radney Knight
b-December 5, 1797
d-August 5 th, 1848
Butler County, Kentucky
Mary "Polly" Simmons
b-June 10, 1801
d-April 12 th, 1867
Mary"Polly" Simmons,
daughter of William and Nancy Duff? Simmons.
The Simmons familly are from North Carolinia.
The Knight family , well we have no ideal as
of yet where they were from orginally. Maybe
some day we will discover that and who Radney's
parents, and siblings are.
Where he was born No one has any Ideal.
NO records have been found that states it.
Except maybe from one of their son's, who
said on his marriage bond that his father
was from Alambama.
You have to wonder where he,George W.
Knight may have heard this from-surely
he must have heard it from his father Radney
Knight.
OR he would have never said it in the first
place. But we do not know where Radney
was born at.You have to relize from Alambama
there is several states they had to travel
through To get to Kentucky. One was North
Carolinia and another perhaps Tennessee.
Both Radney and Polly are buried on the old
Radney Knight place in Butler County, Kentucky.
Along with many other's of their family. Some
have old sand stone marker's that have eroded
during the seaons and faded the names. Some
have no marker's at all. But they are there in
Rock Springs Cemetery.Butler County, Kentucky.
September 1st, 1792 Logan County became the
13th Kentucky county and is formed from Lincoln
County,So by this we know to look in other places
for our family names we maybe tracing.
At one time a very long time ago in about
1810 Butler County was created from parts
of Logan County and Ohio Counties.
Some of Radney and Polly's children were
born in Logan County, Kentucky and some
were born in Butler County, Kentucky as
you will see by their names and date's of
their birth's.

by what they find and write it as a fact. They
assume, Well you have to know what assume

different parts and you will know what Assume
means for you and me or any of us who Assume
