Too Late
What's happeneing in our world today
WIth a sky full of clouds, all gray
Guns are the least of our fears
As we look toward the coming years
With Hiroshima heavy on our minds
We look for what we cannot find
Peace eludes our groping hands
As we stumble forward toward "no man's land"
A college fund becomes a license to kill
As boys, fresh 18, learn their drills
In Kuwait they await the daunting task
We are beyond the point where we can turn back
I look about me in the classroom
Wondering how many eyes will face their doom
Who will be called away
To be blown apart in an ugly fray
Those who make war do not have to fight
If they did they would feel a bit more fright
Before turning to a path of hate
We now have passed that morbid gate
It is too late, it is too late
