Boone County (1-1) vs. Bryan Station (0-2) August 31, 2001

A slight drizzle fell during part of the game but the only lightning generated was by coach Rick Thompson's Boone County Rebels, who erupted for a 63-26 victory over Bryan Station.   Boone County led 21-18 early in the second period but outscored the Defenders 42-8 the rest of the way.  Boone County had a bevy of heroes on the offensive side of the line.  Greg Bowling returned a punt 40 yards for a touchdown, a kickoff for 88 yards and a score, and added a third touchdown on a five yard run.  Jr. running back James Brown ran for 138 yards and three touchdowns on 25 carries.  Quarterback Nick Humbert went to the air sparingly but completed 5 of 6 passes for 73 yards and one touchdown. 

Coach Norm Powell's Bryan Station squad was led by 5-4 135 pound RB Keric Seals with a 54 yard scoring run and caught a 65 yard scoring pass from Chris Yankey.  Seals had 67 yards on the ground, 73 yards on three pass receptions, and 73 yards on three kickoff returns.
