Tates Creek (3-2) vs. Lafayette (5-1) October 3, 2003
Coach Mark Willoughby's Tates Creek Commodores have been led this season by TB Quincy Taylor, who has gained 686 yards on the ground. Tates Creek lost their district opener to Paul Dunbar and needs to win tonight to get back in the district race as four teams will advance to the post-season.

Fain pulled the Generals within seven, 14-7, on a 13 yard scoring reception from Brian Dinger. Fain scored Lafayette's second TD on a 29 yard run. He also kept the eventual winning drive alive by running 18 yards on a fake punt for a key first down. Fain made a key defensive play late in the game to preserve a Lafayette victory. Tates Creek was fourth-and-goal from the Lafayette five-yard line with approximately one minute left when Fain jarred the ball loose from a Tates Creek receiver in the end zone. The Tates Creek faithful protested pass intereference but no flag was thrown.
Lafayette held a 318-256 edge in total offense and the defense did an excellent job shutting down Tates Creek in the second half. Commodore TB Quincy Taylor ripped the Generals for 138 yards and a touchdown on 20 carries in the first half but was effectively slowed over the last two quarters. Lafayette's winning drive covered 92 yards and the finishing touch was supplied by Myron Russell with a nine yard TD run.
