Henry Clay (6-5) vs. Scott County (9-2) November 12, 2004
Henry Clay led Scott County 28-23 after three quarters but Scott County outscored the Blue Devils 22-14 in the final period to gain a 45-42 vuctory. Ted Sberna ran 56 yards for a TD with 2:04 remaining in the game to give Scott County a 45-35 lead. Henry Clay cut the margin to 3, 45-42, on a 40 yard TD pass from Salin Simpson to Clayton Heien with 1:10 remaining on the clock, but Scott County ran out the clock to earn the victory. Henry Clay rolled up 526 yards on total offense but had two passes intercepted and lost three fumbles. The Blue Devils were penalized eight times for 47 yards. Scott County gained 450 yards of total offense, lost two fumbles, and had one pass intercepted. The Cardinals were flagged five times for 26 yards.
Scott County was led on the ground by Ted Sberna, who carried the ball 22 times for 152 yards and two touchdowns. Sberna also caught a 27 yard TD pass. Percy Hargrove added 103 yards and a TD on 18 carries. QB Cody Andrews completed six of 10 passes for 171 yards and three touchdowns with one interception. William Lewis caught three passes for 119 yards with TD receptions of 29 and 60 yards. Lewis added a key pass interception in the fourth quarter. The Scott County defense was led tonight by Cameron Mueller with eight solo and one assisted tackles. Derek Ritchie added six solo tackles and recovered a fumble.
QB Salin Simpson led Henry Clay on the ground with 186 yards and a TD on 14 carries. Simpson also completed 23 of 30 passes for 252 yards with three touchdown passes and two interceptions. Evan Acree added 78 yards on 14 rushing attempts. Sam Gardner led the Blue Devil receiving corps with seven receptions for 55 yards and a score Jermaine Buch led the Henry Clay defense with six solo and one assisted tackles.
