Clark County (0-1) vs. Bryan Station (1-0) August 25, 2006

Coach Paul Columbia's Clark County Cardinals lost their opener to Tates Creek by a score of 17-14.  Robbelle Rogers was a bright spot as he led the ground game with 90 yards but the passing attack was ineffective as the Cardinals only had 16 yards.

Coach Oliver Lucas' Bryan Station Defenders opened their season with a 35-14 victory over Madison Southern.  QB Lance Morton threw for 186 yards and two touchdowns and Terrell Combs ran for 126 yards.  Wes Wilson had a big game on defense with five solo tackles, four assisted tackles, and two interceptions.

Clark County came out focused tonight and shutout Bryan Station by a score of 31-0.  Clark County led 7-0 at halftime and dominated the second half to score 24 unanswered points.  The defense put the clamps on Bryan Station in the second half, holding the Defenders to one first down and 16 total yards on offense.  Clark County intercepted three passes and recovered a fumble.  The Cardinals also made a key defensive play in the first quarter when Bryan Station was driving for the tying score.  The Defenders had a fourth-and-goal from the one but Lance Morton was stopped short of the end zone by Clint Greene.

The Cardinals scored on a 13 yard interception return by Timmy Davis in the third quarter.  Tristan Jones intercepted a pass in the fourth quarter and returned it 13 yards to the one to set up a one yard TD run by Clint Greene.  6-2 300 pound Jr. DT Bubby Fox also got into the act in the final period with a pass interception at theBryan Station 30 yard line.

Clark County recorded 13 first downs, rolled up 223 yards of offense, and lost two fumbles.  The Cardinals were penalized three times for 15 yards.  Bryan Station had 10 first downs, 176 yards on offense, and were penalized five times for 41 yards.

Robbelle Rogers led the Clark County ground game with 80 yards and a TD on 16 carries.  Doug Mason completed three of nine passes for 36 yards.  Michael Clark caught two passes for 36 yards.  Tatum Lewis led the Cardinal defense with four solo and three assisted tackles.  Robbelle Rogers chipped in with two solo and five assisted tackles.  Timmy Davis recorded four solo tackles, two assisted tackles, and one interception.

Terrell Combs led the Defenders' ground game with 80 yards 13 carries.  Lance Morton completed eight of 19 passes for 82 yards with three interceptions.  Thomas Miller-Hughes caught four passes for 49 yards.  Camien Stewart led the Defender defense with four solo and four assisted tackles.  Dharan Mason added one solo and seven assisted tackles, and recovered a fumble.  Chris Burton recorded six solo and one assisted tackles.
