Lexington Catholic got a return to early season form by Shane Israel and a great defensive effort to defeat Boyle County 41-12. Israel, bouncing back from an early season injury, ran for 175 yards and two TDs tonight. The Lexington Catholic defense held the Rebels to seven net rushing yards on 25 carries including six QB sacks for losses totalling 43 yards.
Lexington Catholic recorded 21 first downs and 451 yards of total offense. The Knights were penalized nine times for 102 yards and lost a fumble. Boyle County had eight first downs and 209 yards of total offense. The Rebels were penalized two times for 17 yards and lost two fumbles.
Shane Israel led Lexington Catholic's ground game with 175 yards and two touchdowns on 21 carries. Nic Ward completed 11 of 17 passes for 102 yards with one TD. Andrew Hutchinson caught four passes for 68 yards and a TD. Nic Vicini led the defense with four solo and one assisted tackles. Vince Guagenti added three solo and two assisted tackles.
Cole Stevens led Boyle County's ground game with 16 yards on five carries. Jordan Aumiller completed seven of 21 passes for 209 yards and a TD. Ron Crutchfield caught three passes for 128 yards and a TD. Jeremy Bardin led the Rebel defense with seven solo and two assisted tackles. Cole Stevens added six solo and three assisted tackles.
