Lexington Catholic led 14-0 after the first quarter on their way to an impressive 35-16 victory over previously unbeaten Bell County. Lexington Catholic's Winston Guy, set the tone for the game as he returned the opening kickoff 96 yards to the Bell County two yard line. Two plays later, Shane Israel scored on a one yard run to give the Knights a lead. The Lexington Catholic defense also came up big tonight as they recovered three Bell County fumbles in the third quarter.
Lexington Catholic recorded 18 first downs and 341 yards of total offense. The Knights were penalized eight times for 52 yards and had two passes intercepted. Bell County had 14 first downs and 327 yards of total offense. The Bobcats were not penalized tonight and lost three fumbles.
Shane Israel led Lexington Catholic's ground game with 125 yards and three touchdowns on 26 carries. Nic Ward completed 16 of 29 passes for 189 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions. Daniel Vogelsang caught five passes for 50 yards. Tyler Corvin added four receptions for 35 yards and a TD. Devon Williams chipped in with three receptions for 70 yards and a TD. Nic Vicini led the defense with seven solo and four assisted tackles. Winston Guy added seven solo and two assisted tackles. Vince Guagenti had three solo tackles and recovered two fumbles.
Spencer Greer led Bell County's ground attack with 106 yards on 16 carries. T. R. Christopher carried the ball four times for 56 yards and a TD. Shawnta Zachery chipped in with 40 yards on 10 carries. Kyle Nelson completed three of five passes for 20 yards. Shawnta Zachery completed six of 13 passes for 65 yards and a TD. Chase Ely caught two passes for 30 yards. Kyle Nelson led the defense with six solo and five assisted tackles. Billy Lawson added three solo and six assisted tackles. Shawnta Zachery recorded four solo and two assisted tackles and intercepted a pass.
