LaSalle gained 408 yards on the ground on 42 rushing attempts for a 9.7 yards per carry in a 55-26 victory over Henry Clay. The Blue Devils didn't have an answer tonight for 5-7 172 pound Sr. TB Kendall Owens who carried the ball 16 times for 300 yards and five touchdowns, averaging an eye-popping 18.8 yards per carry.
LaSalle recorded 20 first downs and 499 yards of total offense. They were penalized four times for 100 yards and lost three fumbles. Henry Clay had 17 first downs and 339 yards of total offense. The Blue Devils were penalized only once for five yards.
Kendall Owens scored on runs of 72, 1, 4, 47, and 30 yards. Tim Edmond added 73 yards on 15 carries. Brendan Jones completed eight of nine passes for 91 yards and a touchdown. Devier Posey caught four passes for 45 yards. Ryan Luggen led the defense with three solo and six assisted tackles. J. K. Schaffer added four solo and three assisted tackles with 25 of his tackles resulting in losses totalling 21 yards.
Dontey Gay led the Henry Clay ground game with 56 yards on 13 carries. Ed Nzolameso added 44 yards on nine carries. Ryan Phillippi completed 15 of 27 passes for 275 yards and three touchdowns. Aaron Boyd caught five passes for 175 yards and two touchdowns. Tyler Hooker added four receptions for 50 yards. Mike Federspeil led the defense with five solo and four assisted tackles. John Walton added four solo and two assisted tackles.
