Scott County raced out to a 17-0 halftime lead on their way to a 27-7 victory over previously unbeated Madison Central. Scott County's first score, a 38 yard field goal by Jay Wilmott, was set up by a blocked punt. Their first TD, a 22 yard TD run by Brandon Lawson was also set up by a blocked punt. The Cardinals increased their lead to 17-0 on a 75 yard fumble recovery return by Andre Dumphford.
Scott County recorded 10 first downs and 230 yards of total offense. The Cardinals were penalized six times for 46 yards and lost one fumble. Madison Central had 11 first downs and 201 yards of total offense. The Indians were penalized five times for 33 yards and lost three fumbles.
Jose Smith led the Scott County's ground attack with 79 yards and a TD on 13 carries. Brandon Lawson added 55 yards and a TD on nine carries. Logan Travis carried the ball 10 times for 42 yards. Corey Cronin completed his only pass for 44 yards. Sam Payne had a monster game on defense with five solo and 14 assisted tackles including 2.5 tackles for losses totalling 11 yards. Sean Higgins added four solo and two assisted tackles including two tackles for losses totalling 14 yards. . Andre Dumphford recorded three solo and five assisted tackles, and returned a fumble 75 yards for a TD.
Keshawn Simpson led the Madison Central ground game with 72 yards on nine carries. Ricky Rhodes carried the ball 12 times for 50 yards and a TD. Zac Coldiron completed seven of 12 passes for 96 yards but was sacked five times. Avery Bellfield caught three passes for 25 yards. Ricky Rhodes added two receptions for 31 yards. Daniel Bryan led the defense with three solo and seven assisted tackles, with three of his tackles resulting in losses totalling 16 yards. Bryan also recovered a fumble. J. R. Heiner added four solo and two assisted tackles.
