Henry Clay's defense managed to keep Boone County's star running back Charles Quainoo out of the end zone tonight in a 14-7 victory. Quainoo had been averaging 221 yards rushing a game and the Blue Devil defense held him to 112 yards on 25 carries and, more importantly, no touchdowns. Meanwhile, Henry Clay RB Tyler Hooker scored two touchdowns for the Blue Devils. Boone County scored a late touchdown on an 18 yard pass from Luke Sciamanna to Daniel Lokesak.
Henry Clay recorded nine first downs and 221 yards of total offense. The Blue Devils were penalized four times for 42 yards. Boone County had 15 first downs and 219 yards of total offense. The Rebels were penalized twice for 20 yards and lost a fumble.
Tyler Hooker led the Henry Clay ground game with 60 yards and two touchdowns on 12 carries. Shannan Coofer carried the ball once for 35 yards. Cole Mielcarek completed 10 of 21 passes for 122 yards. Matt Cox caught four passes for 46 yards. Jason Rider added two receptions for 62 yards. Byron Howard led the defense with six solo and seven assisted tackles. Jon Baker added five solo and seven assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totalling 16 yards. Mike Federspiel recorded five solo and six assisted tackles.
Charles Quainoo led the Boone County ground attack with 112 yards on 25 carries. J. Oppenheimer carried the ball nine times for 45 yards. Mike Walsh completed one of nine passes for 13 yards. Luke Sciamanna completed three of seven passes for 29 yards and a touchdown. Daniel Lokesak caught two passes for 25 yards and a touchdown. Cory Spalding led the defense with six solo tackles. Brian Robertson added three solo and three assisted tackles.
