Scott County rolled up 605 yards of total offense in a 56-24 victory over Southern. The Cardinals ran for 545 yards on 54 rushing attempts for a robust 10.1 yards per carry.
Scott County recorded 28 first downs and 605 yards of total offense. The Cardinals were penalized five times for 45 yards. Southern had 16 first downs and 371 yards of total offense. They were penalized eight times for 69 yards and lost three fumbles.
Jose Smith led the Scott County ground attack with 258 yards and two touchdowns on 21 carries. Josh Walls carried the ball eight times for 124 yards and two touchdowns. Corey Cronin completed two of four passes for 60 yards and two touchdowns. Michael Weeks and Josh Walls each caught a TD pass of 44 and 16 yards respectively. Andre Dumphord led the defense with five solo and five assisted tackles with 2.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totalling five yards. Josh Walls added four solo and two assisted tackles.
Calvin Ferguson led Southern's ground game with 182 yards and four touchdowns on 27 carries. Ferguson also completed 12 of 29 passes for 178 yards. Kyrie Hamilton caught four passes for 66 yards. Mike Case added three receptions for 20 yards. Jordan Blakemore led the defense with six solo and six assisted tackles with three of his tackles resulting in losses totalling 13 yards.
