Hazard (11-3) vs. Beechwood (13-1) December 12, 2008
Coach Mark Dixon’s Hazard Bulldogs gained 3892 yards on the ground and 2262 yards through the air. They averaged 37.2 ppg on offense and gave up 20.1 ppg. 5-8 170 pound Sr. RB Greg Adams led the ground game with 1760 yards and 20 touchdowns on 150 carries. 6-0 215 pound Sr. QB Tyler Olinger added 961 yards and 16 touchdowns on 124 carries. Olinger completed 103 of 204 passes for 1765 yards and 18 touchdowns
with 10 interceptions. 6-3 220 pound WR Michael Campbell caught 36 passes for 565 yards and three touchdowns. Greg Adams added 27 receptions for 626 yards and seven touchdowns. 6-0 185 pound Sr. LB John Howard led the defense with 97 tackles. 6-3 235 pound Jr. DE Allan Fugate added 88 tackles.
Coach Noel Rash’s Beechwood Tigers gained 4381 yards on the ground and 1306 yards through the air. They averaged 41.2 ppg on offense and gave up 8.4 ppg. 6-2 209 pound Sr. RB Nieco Teipel led the ground game with 2166 yards and 35 touchdowns on 290 carries. 6-2 175 pound Jr. QB Matt Rigdon added 801 yards and nine touchdowns on 95 carries. Rigdon completed 68 of 126 passes for 1250 yards and 11 touchdowns with five interceptions. 6-2 172 pound Sr. WR Alex Downton caught 25 passes for 347 yards and two touchdowns. 5-10 151 pound Jr. DB Kody Klug intercepted six passes this season.
Beechwood defeated Hazard 14-7 despite turning the ball over four times. Beechwood recorded 18 first downs and 296 yards of total offense. The Tigers were penalized five times for 45 yards, lost three fumbles, and had one pass intercepted. Hazard recorded 10 first downs and 142 yards of total offense. The Bulldogs were penalized five times for 50 yards and had a pass intercepted.
Nieco Teipel led Beechwood’s ground game with 128 yards on 25 carries. Matt Rigdon carried the ball 14 times for 75 yards and a touchdown. Rigdon completed seven of 11 passes for 50 yards and one touchdown with one interception. Joe Daniels caught two passes for 16 yards. Nieco Teipel added two receptions for 13 yards and a touchdown. Joe Daniels led the defense with six solo and two assisted tackles. Michael Porco added four solo and five assisted tackles with 2.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling seven yards.
TJ Searcy led Hazard’s ground game with 32 yards on seven carries. Tyler Olinger completed 10 of 25 passes for 99 yards with one interception. Michael Campbell caught six passes for 71 yards. Michael Campbell led the defense with eight solo and three assisted tackles. John Howard added six solo and four assisted tackles.

Coach Bob Schneider’s Newport Central Catholic Thoroughbreds gained 3381 yards on the ground and 1476 yards through the air. They averaged 36 ppg on offense and gave up 17.3 ppg. 5-10 185 pound Sr. RB Mark Kelly led the ground game with 1682 yards and 26 touchdowns on 230 carries. 6-2 175 pound Sr. QB Rob Kues added 770 yards and 11 touchdowns on 142 carries. Kues completed 112 of 199 passes for 1474 yards and 14 touchdowns with three interceptions. 6-1 190 pound Sr. WR Ben Parr caught 32 passes for 483 yards and five touchdowns. 6-1 205 pound Sr. LB Greg Willett led the defense with 93 solo and 73 assisted tackles. 6-0 185 pound So. LB Chris Kelly added 54 solo and 54 assisted tackles.
Coach Shawn Berner’s Fort Campbell Falcons gained 3972 yards on the ground and 1812 yards through the air. They averaged 44.5 ppg on offense and gave up 10 ppg. 6-0 175 pound Jr. QB Antonio Andrews led the ground game with 1633 yards and 25 touchdowns on 152 carries. 5-11 185 pound Jr. RB Troy Turner added 932 yards and 14 touchdowns on 93 carries. Andrews completed 94 of 166 passes for 1527 yards and 21 touchdowns with four interceptions. 5-10 165 pound Sr. RB JD Ervin caught 43 passes for 467 yards and five touchdowns. 5-11 175 pound Jr. WR Chris Allen added 31 receptions for 661 yards and eight touchdowns. 6-2 230 pound Sr. LB Josh Carter led the defense with 118 solo and 79 assisted tackles. 5-11 165 pound So. FS Tre Powell added 101 solo and 81 assisted tackles.
All everything QB Antonio Andrews caught a 59 yard pass from JD Ervin with 1:44 left in the game to give Fort Campbell a 26-23 victory over Newport Central Catholic.
Fort Campbell recorded 11 first downs and 401 yards of total offense. The Falcons were penalized six times for 46 yards, lost two fumbles, and had a pass intercepted. Newport Central Catholic recorded 15 first downs and 275 yards of total offense. The Thoroughbreds were penalized 17 times for 95 yards and lost two fumbles.
Antonio Andrews led Fort Campbell’s ground game with 138 yards and two touchdowns on 17 carries. Andrews completed 11 of 19 passes for 171 yards and a touchdown with one interception. JD Ervin caught five passes for 113 yards and a touchdown. Tre Powell added four receptions for 57 yards. Tre Powell led the defense with nine solo and two assisted tackles. Josh Carter added six solo tackles, four assisted tackles, and a fumble recovery. Casey Miller recorded six solo and four assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling six yards.
Mark Kelly led Newport Central Catholic’s ground game with 113 yards on 18 carries. Rob Kues completed 14 of 23 passes for 107 yards. Ben Parr caught six passes for 53 yards. Ben Parr led the defense with eight solo tackles, two assisted tackles, and returned a recovered fumble 61 yards for a touchdown.

Coach Mike Holcomb’s Breathitt County Bobcats gained 4649 yards on the ground and 1327 yards through the air. They averaged 35.8 ppg on offense and gave up 15.6 ppg. 6-2 225 pound Jr. RB Channing Fugate led the ground game with 2919 yards and 35 touchdowns on 261 carries. 5-7 155 pound So. RB Cody Pritchard added 789 yards and six touchdowns on 93 carries. 6-0 190 pound Jr. QB Jade Haddix completed 99 of 171 passes for 1320 yards and 16 touchdowns with only one interception. 6-1 175 pound Sr. WR Ryan Allen and Channing Fugate each caught 23 passes for 338 and 314 yards respectively. Allen had three touchdown receptions and Channing Fugate caught two TD passes. 6-1 165 pound Fr. Josh Fletcher added 19 receptions for 375 yards and seven touchdowns. Channing Fugate led the defense with 64 solo and 32 assisted tackles. 6-0 235 pound Sr. DT Scott Bailey added 48 solo and 44 assisted tackles.
Coach Tyrran Scoggins Central Yellowjackets gained 3155 yards on the ground and 1238 yards through the air. They averaged 31.5 ppg on offense and gave up 14.7 ppg. 5-10 160 pound Jr. QB Chris King led the ground attack with 939 yards and eight touchdowns on 145 carries. 5-10 140 pound Sr. RB Chance Hughes added 864 yards and 11 touchdowns on 140 carries. 5-10 140 pound Jr. QB Diaz Bolden recorded 667 yards and six touchdowns on 60 carries. Chris King completed 65 of 136 passes for 898 yards and 14 touchdowns with seven interceptions. 5-9 160 pound Jr. WR Stephan Robinson caught 32 passes for 644 yards and 10 touchdowns. 6-5 230 pound Jr. LB Timothy Patterson led the defense with 36 solo and 40 assisted tackles. 6-2 285 pound Sr. DL Mister Cobble added 47 solo and 26 assisted tackles.
Central scored 21 unanswered points in the second quarter on their way to a 40-19 victory over Breathitt County. Central recorded 19 first downs and 453 yards of total offense. The Yellowjackets were penalized five times for 60 yards and lost two fumbles. Breathitt County recorded 16 first downs and 346 yards of total offense. The Bobcats were penalized five times for 55 yards, lost a fumble, and had two passes intercepted.
Chance Hughes led Central’s ground attack with 169 yards and two touchdowns on 21 carries. Anthony Wales carried the ball 10 times for 86 yards and a touchdown. Chris King completed five of 11 passes for 130 yards and a touchdown. Stephan Robinson caught three passes for 120 yards and a touchdown. Ridge Wilson led the defense with seven solo and four assisted tackles. Mister Cobble added eight solo and one assisted tackles with three of his tackles resulting in losses totaling eight yards. Timothy Patterson recorded five solo tackles and three assisted tackles.
Channing Fugate led Breathitt County’s ground game with 133 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries. Jade Haddix carried the ball 13 times for 113 yards and a touchdown. Jade Haddix completed nine of 18 passes for 100 yards and a touchdown with two interceptions. Zack Epperson caught four passes for 58 yards and a touchdown. Channing Fugate caught four passes for 39 yards. Dusty Allen led the defense with seven solo and five assisted tackles. Jade Haddix added five solo and three assisted tackles. Channing Fugate recorded five solo and one assisted tackles.

They averaged 30.4 ppg on offense and gave up 21.2 ppg. 6-2 205 pound Sr. RB Zach McCarthy led the ground game with 1184 yards and 17 touchdowns on 143 carries. 5-8 175 pound Sr. RB Curtis Logsdon added 1173 yards and 16 touchdowns on 213 carries. 5-10 163 pound Jr. QB Matthew Bowles completed 81 of 126 passes for 1174 yards and 12 touchdowns with 11 interceptions. 6-5 170 pound Sr. WR Nathan Brooks caught 14 passes for 157 yards. Curtis Logsdon added 11 receptions for 219 yards. 5-11 223 pound Sr. LB Michael Bozarth led the defense with 122 solo and 43 assisted tackles. 6-0 188 pound DL Justin King added 75 solo and 15 assisted tackles.
Bell County defeated Bullitt East by a score of 15-13. Bullitt East scored on a one yard run by Zach McCarthy with 10 seconds left in the game but the attempted pass for a two point conversion to tie the game failed.
Bell County recorded 14 first downs and 253 yards of total offense. The Bobcats were penalized three times for 19 yards and had two passes intercepted. Bullitt East recorded 13 first downs and 216 yards of total offense. The Chargers were penalized twice for 20 yards and had two passes intercepted.
Dominic Carton led Bell County’s ground game with 71 yards on seven carries. Spencer Greer carried the ball 19 times for 66 yards and a touchdown. Shawnta Zachery completed seven of 14 passes for 64 yards and a touchdown with two interceptions. Cody Davenport caught four passes for 36 yards. John Dudley Hilton led the defense with eight solo and four assisted tackles. Hilto also intercepted a pass. Keith Lowe added five solo and two assisted tackles. Shawnta Zachery recorded five solo tackles, one assisted tackle, and one interception.
Zach McCarthy led the Bullitt East ground game with 79 yards and two touchdowns on 21 carries. Matthew Bowles completed six of 17 passes for 85 yards and two interceptions. Nathan Brooks caught three passes for 34 yards and Zach McCarthy added two receptions for 56 yards. Michael Bozarth led the defense with seven solo and five assisted tackles. Curtis Logsdon added eight solo and one assisted tackles with three of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 10 yards. Justin King recorded five solo and three assisted tackles.

They averaged 31.4 ppg on offense and gave up 16.2 ppg. 5-11 171 pound Jr. RB Vashun Banks led the ground game with 1585 yards and 19 touchdowns on 205 carries. 5-11 189 pound Sr. QB James Bauer carried the ball 149 times for 714 yards and 10 touchdowns. Bauer completed 79 of 151 passes for 1417 yards and 12 touchdowns with nine interceptions. 6-0 190 pound So. WR Bubba Tandy caught 29 passes for 714 yards and 10 touchdowns. 5-4 146 pound Sr. WR David Wallace added 22 receptions for 341 yards and five touchdowns. 5-8 148 pound Sr. DB Rickey Tinnin intercepted six passes with two interception returns for touchdowns.
Highlands outscored Christian County 14-0 in the final quarter in a 35-15 victory. Highlands recorded 16 first downs and 322 yards of total offense. The Bluebirds were penalized four times for 25 yards, lost two fumbles, and had a pass intercepted. Christian County recorded 15 first downs and 260 yards of total offense. The Colonels were penalized twice for 20 yards, lost two fumbles, and had a pass intercepted.
Josh Conner led Highland’s ground game with 114 yards and a touchdown on 16 carries. Tony Guidugli carried the ball nine times for 85 yards and a touchdown. Clint Crawford added 53 yards and two touchdowns on 10 carries. Tony Guidugli completed two of four passes for 60 yards and a touchdown with one interception. Austin Collinsworth caught one pass for 47 yards and Daniel Gold added a 13 yard touchdown reception. Michael Laber led the defense with 10 solo and four assisted tackles. Oliver Head added six solo and two assisted tackles.
Vashun Banks led Christian County’s ground game with 43 yards and two touchdowns on 13 carries. James Bauer completed 14 of 26 passes for 187 yards with one interception. WR Zach Carroll caught 11 passes for 134 yards and a touchdown. Miles Simpson caught eight passes for 223 yards and three touchdowns. 5-9 200 pound Sr. LB Matt Neal led the defense with 58 solo and 78 assisted tackles. 5-10 185 pound So. LB Austin Baldwin added 52 solo and 44 assisted tackles. 6-2 185 pound Jr. LB Nik Brown recorded 51 solo and 45 assisted tackles.
Coach Bob Beatty’s Trinity Shamrocks gained 2443 yards on the ground and 2966 yards through the air. They averaged 44.4 ppg on offense and gave up 10.8 ppg. 5-5 165 pound Sr. RB Tim Phillips led the ground game with 1404 yards and 22 touchdowns on 188 carries. 5-11 175 pound Sr. QB Cameron Smyth completed 208 of 282 passes for 2704 yards and 31 touchdowns with eight interceptions. 5-11 165 pound Sr. WR Scott Radcliff caught 55 passes for 904 yards and seven touchdowns. 6-1 180 pound Sr. WR William Leach added 40 receptions for 526 yards and six touchdowns. 6-1 235 pound Sr. LB Jordan Whiting led the defense with 94 solo and nine assisted tackles. 5-11 195 pound Sr. LB Phil McCauley added 64 solo and four assisted tackles.
Trinity raced out to a 41-0 halftime lead on their way to a 48-0 victory over Simon Kenton. Trinity recorded 18 first downs and 423 yards of total offense. The Shamrocks were penalized once for 15 yards. Simon Kenton recorded 10 first downs and 150 yards of total offense. The Pioneers were penalized three times for 25 yards, lost a fumble, and had one pass intercepted.
Tim Phillips led Trinity’s ground game with 131 yards and three touchdowns on 11 carries. Cameron Smyth completed 12 of 12 passes for 232 yards and three touchdowns. Scott Radcliff caught five passes for 98 yards and one touchdown. Jordan Whiting led the defense with five solo and one assisted tackles. Michael Hogan added four solo and one assisted tackles.
Miles Simpson led Simon Kenton’s ground game with 72 yards on 16 carries. Patrick Bustle completed three of nine passes for 28 yards with one interception. Chad Lawrence caught one pass for 11 yards. Dirk Murray led the defense with five solo and three assisted tackles. Nik Brown added four solo and two assisted tackles.
