The Band

For those of you who don't know who the living end is, you are missing out on good music!!!!! Here is the little amount of info I know on the band. This is according to other pages on the internet so it might not be accurate.

The Living End is a 3-piece rockabilly/punk band from Melbourne,Australia. Chris(the lead singer) and Scott(bass player) went to school together at Wheelers Hill Secondary College in Melbourne. Scott originally played piano but Chris got him into rockabilly and got him to learn double bass. They jammed together a lot, and played covers under the name the Runaway Boys starting in 1991.They went through a few drummers before meeting Joe Piripitzy, and at that point, they became The Living End. The Living End started out playing lots and lots of gigs, especially with a band called Fireball. I don't know who this band is but,The Living End was constantly compared to this band, so they must be pretty good. The original band was Chris Cheney-lead guitar/lead vocals, Scott Owens-upright bass/vocals, and Joey Piripitzy-drums. This continued until just after the recording of "It's for Your Own Good", when they replaced Joey with Travis Drempsey. Joey moved to a band called H Block, who is stongly supported by The Living End.
The Living End now has five releases out. "Hellbound" was recorded in 94-95 and it has 8 or 9 songs on it(i think some copies have 8 and some have 9). The next one, "It's for Your Own Good", was recorded in 1996, and released in 1997. It had 6 songs on it, including a cover of the Cure song 10:15 Saturday Night. The cover increased thier popularity, and got some airplay on the radio. Thier third release was "Second Solution-Prisioner of Society", which became quite successful. Probably the biggest release was thier self titled album. It had three previously released songs(Second Solution, Save the Day, and Prisioner of Society) plus 11 more original songs. It was the most popular album in the US as well. Thier current release, Roll On, came out 2001(I think). The Living end is touring the US and Canada, till August 5th. They will be at Van's Warped Tour. Then they're gonna tour in Europe.
