Very Special Friend in Canada!
Very
Touching!
September
21, 2001
Dear President Bush and the American People
I am sending my sincere condolences, prayers, and sympathy
in
light of the recent atrocities.
Ottawa, Canada
The
Canadian people are all in disbelief and feel
your pain and sorrow.
I
feel obliged to apologize for the Canadian Government,
in
particular, our Prime Minister,
for
their apparent lack of courtesy, regard and caring for
not
only the lost souls of the United States,
but
also Canada in that tragedy.
The
Canadian people do not agree
with our Prime Minister and have
deep
shame and embarrassment for the way he has dealt with this.
We
are appalled! We all feel the least he could have
done was to go to New York and pay his respects on behalf of Canadians.
Ottawa, Canada
We
do not blame you in the least for not mentioning Canada
in
your speech when you talked about best friends.
How
could you address an empty chair!
I
wish you could see the real feelings of the Canadian public.
The
outpouring of sympathy standing in lineups
to
give blood, hanging American flags on their homes,
holding
candlelight ceremonies, filling churches praying,
fund
raising and some going down to New York to volunteer their help.
We
honor those who are putting their lives at risk to help with this tragedy.
Please
do not judge all Canadians on the actions
or
lack of on the part of our Prime Minister.
We
are very proud to have America
as
our neighbor and friend and stand behind
your
decisions to obliterate terrorism.
Toronto, Canada
Canada
has to change their policies and laws in regard to this,
and
we, as the people, have been demanding this for years.
All
we've received for our efforts is cut backs to our military and RCMP.
For
this we are also furious, embarrassed, and ashamed.
I
know you personally won't have time to
read this letter but I hope somehow, the American people will now know
how
we feel up here, that they are loved, respected and prayed for.
Yours in great sympathy,
A
Concerned Canadian
