CLAY COUNTY KENTUCKY MISCELLANEOS DOCUMENTS I Issac Btcher have this day sold to Stephen Anglin in June,my crop of corn, new jersey and her yearling calf, one bay mare with one good eye- 9 yrs old, a yearling colt of said mare & one bald face sorrell colt-2 yrs next May, and 2 cows-one a pied cow 6 yrs old, masked in the mark of John Ambrose, deceased, and one pied cow some 9 yrs old, masked with a smoot crop off the left ear and 12 stock hogs for the sum of $107.90, the reciept of which is hereby acknowledged with my hand on this 3 day December 1852... MB Jones ----------------------------------------------------------------------- This Indenture withnesseth that William Reid presiding judge of the Clay County Court, hath this day leased unto Thomas Ramsey & May Ponder for the term of one year, the poor house and farm, situate being in Clay County on the waters of Rader's Creek, with the appurtenances thereof belonging or in any wise appertaining; and doth in considertion of the convenants herein after made and expressed on the part of the said William Reid, County Judge, as foresaid.Convenant and bind himself that the said Thomas Ramsey & May Ponder shall hold, use and occupy the said poorhouse and the farm attached for and during the term of one year ending the 31st of December next without let or hindance. And in consideration thereof, the said Thomas Ramsey and May Ponder on their part convenants and agrees to cultivate the farm in a good husband like manner, keep up fencing in good repair, and pay to the party of the first part, one third of all grains, grapes or other vegetable products raised on the said farm or tenenment on or before the first day of December 1860. This we concurred the most equitable mode as the locality of the land would not permit a division into 9 parts without rendering the whole of little value. We alloted all on the south side of the River to Thomas Hornsby and allotted that the heir & Wild pay him $30.00 to make his share equal, all which is respectivly submitted.
