STATE OF KENTUCKY, Clay County to Wit: This deed of gift is made and entered into the 22nd day of August in the year of our lord, 1854, to wit: That, whereas I, Susan Garland, relict of John Garland deceased, being very aged and infirmed and not expecting to continue but a short time in this world and being possessed of some real and personnel estate and desiring to make a deposition thereof according to my own free will, And whereas my son, Solomon Garland has been a dutiful son to me, attending to my business for a long time to take possession thereof at my death, except for the seperate gifts here made to wit: I give Elizabeth Robinson, daughter of my son Solomon Garland, five of my dresses, I give the balance of my wearing clothes to Susan Hammond of Knox County. I give one dollar to Joseph Garland, one dollar to Lucy Richison, one dollar to Sally Offil, one dollar to Polly Offil, one dollar to Patsy Hammons, one dollar to Viney Hopper.
