BABA THE HIPPIE

BABA

I created the character Baba way back in the early 80s when I was a teenager.

I never imagined that Babaa would have the chance to appear in a film.

In 2005, I was invited to help with the film "Illegal Smile" by The Other End of the State Productions.

I was really excited about my first opportunity to act in a real film.

The filming began on Friday, August 5, 2005.

I missed that day and the next due to being busy making a costume for the film.

I made it to the filming at a local pet shop on Sunday, August 7. I came as Baba, hoping to appear in the film as a shopper at the pet store.

Baba appeared in a short segment where Pedreo the Turk is arguing with Jimmy Snyder.

Baba and his lovechild, Sunflower, are shopping for fish when they come upon the argument.

Several shots were taken of this scene and Baba and Sunflower are looking at all of the fish in the fish tanks.

Unfortunately, this scene got cut from the film, so Baba does not appear in the final version of Illegal Smile.
Peace man!
