~ Lost Without The Will To Hunt ~

My name is Whitetail Tony, and I have written stories of my hunts over the years. But back a few years ago I thought my hunting was over for good.
In December of 2003 was our last hunting trip together.
Because on February 20, 2004, my oldest brother and best friend, passed away. I didn't think I would ever want to hunt again without him.
He had taught me everything I knew about hunting. And let me tell you, he was one of the best hunters I had ever seen in my life.
He could almost tell you what the deer were thinking! Or where they could be found, when nobody else could find them.
Yes! He was a great hunter!
When he passed away all my hunting dreams went down the drain. I just didn't want to hunt anymore.
But as time passed, I started thinking of my other brothers, who love to hunt. I love them very much, and I wanted to teach them what 'Beggie' had taught me. That was the least that I could do.
I was really hurt but I wanted to keep his spirit and knowledge alive, so I could always remember him just like he was.
And deep in my heart I knew that he didn't want me to quit hunting with my other brothers.
So I am now hunting again, with them and thank God that I did.
I am teaching them everything that 'Beggie' taught me. They do know a lot about deer hunting. But everybody can learn new stuff about hunting. The more you learn, the better you become as a hunter and a person.
I thank God for all the years that I had with Beggie, because he was my HERO, but he never knew that. I just wish I had told him before he left us. But I think he knows that now in his heart.

Thank you Beggie
For everything you did for me, our brothers, and our sisters.
You will be in our hearts and dreams as long as we live on this earth and after.
We all love you brother
And someday I hope that we can see you again. We love and miss you with all of our hearts!
