Roman's Road of Salvation

I can remember as a young man being taught the Romans Road to Salvation, and have used this many times in witnessing to other people. If one reads it closely, they can so readily see God’s great love for us and His plan of Salvation.

Romans 3:10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:

And there is none righteous. No matter how good a life we may live, it has no value in God’s eyes. It is like it says in Isaiah

Isaiah 64:6

But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.

For those that may not understand it, the filthy rags spoken of here were the rags a woman used during her menstrual cycle, it was the most unclean thing, the most filthy thing known in that time span, so therefore God used it as the example to show how He saw our rightness, when He was not in it.

Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

We all come short of the glory of God

Romans 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

This one man was Adam, when he disobeyed God and did his own thing, he went into sin. Because of this, the sin of disobedience was passed on down to every man, and until we turn to Christ and ask forgiveness of this sin, we stay in that sin.

Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Isn’t this something good to know, that God loved us so much that He gave us a way out of sin, this way out was through His only begotten Son, born of a Virgin woman, lived without sin, died on the cross so His blood could be applied to our hearts to hide our sins, if we would only believe, arose again on the third day, so we could have life with the Father.

You may ask, “What must I do to receive forgiveness of my sins?” It is really very simple just follow the next two verses.

Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

Confess with your mouth to God that you are a sinner, here is the hard part, believe in your heart, and notice it says with the heart, not the mind. A mind salvation will send you straight to Hell, that God has raised Him from the dead.

Romans 10:10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Once you have taken the steps of confessing your state of sin and asking God to come in and save you, then you really need to confess this to others with your mouth.

I do not believe the next two verses need explaining.

Luke 11:9 And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.

. Luke 11:10 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
