We want everyone to meet Miss Matalee Grace Walters. She was welcomed into this world on November 15, 2003 at 8:19 pm. She came in weighing a whopping 6 pounds and 6 ounces. She has beautiful blue eyes, and short light brown hair. Welcome your next Miss America!!!
Mommy and Daddy are doing very well with the new change. Life is very different, but we wouldnt go back to our old lifestyle for anything. Instead of going out and doing our own thing, we just love to stay home and watch our new bundle grow before our eyes. She has many wonderful features, and even though parenthood can be very aggervating, when you see her sweet smile, all the anger fades away. For any new parents out there, just wait. This is the most amazing miracle that you will ever encounter.
Matalee will never doubt love. We have a large extended family who simply adores her. Listen to all these Nanas, and Papaws... She has her Grandma Angie and "G" Barry, Her Nana Donna and Papaw Kim, Papaw Jim, and Mamaw Jennifer, and Grandpaw Darryl. She has great grandparents too... Mamaw and Papaw Neal, and who can forget...MAW!!! She has 4 uncles and 1 aunt... Clay, Josh, Jonathan , Takoda and Amber. She has many second cousins and even a third one about to arive....WELCOME MISS ARIANA!!! She is loved by many.

Did a bili ruben test and it was 9.1(which is just fine). At this visit, they also did her state required blood work in her heel…..Daddy couldn’t watch!
11/24/03- On this day, Matalee wouldn’t keep any fluids down. We had to take an emergency trip to the hospital at 3:00am. Here, they did more blood work, and this time, it was a lot more painful for her and us. They had to put an i.v. needle in her arm to draw blood. Again, Daddy had to leave the room. She saw Dr. Stapczynski and he diagnosed her with breast milk jaundice. Her bili ruben was 11.4 this time. Soon, she would be just fine. She went to see Dr. Boarman the same day, and he gave us a few instructions, and told us everything would be o.k.
12/2/03- Wt:7lbs,4oz, Length:21 in
Today, we scheduled an ultrasound on her tummy because Matt had a disease when he was 6 mths old called pyloric stenosis. Because of Matalee’s projectile vomiting, we wanted to make sure that she didn’t have this.
12/3/03- Ultrasound showed that there was no trace of this disease, and she had acid reflux.
12/29/03- Wt: 9lbs, 4oz.
Matalee hasn’t been able to take a # 2 on her own, and we have tried everything from Kayro syrup and water to infant suppositories. Today, he told us to put her on infant prune/apple juice 3 times a day.
1/16/04- 2 mth visit. Wt: 9lbs, 22 ¼ in
Matalee got all of her shots today. She got the HBV2 and HIB1, the DTAP1 and IPV1 and the PVN1. She did really well actually. He also told us to give her mylicon drops after she eats everytime for her stomach problem, and we scheduled an appointment with a gastro doc for April. But, she seems like she feels fine.
3/19/04- 4 mth visit. Wt:11 lbs,5 oz; 25 Inches long.
Where is she getting this height from?? Matalee got more shots today. She didnt fuss too much. She isn't gaining much weight, so he told us to start her on cereal 3 times a day! So far, she hasn't enjoyed that too much. She cries, and spits it up. SO we haven't followed those rules too much. As far as her belly goes, she still isnt "going" very regular. Keep your fingers crossed!!!
SHE’S A GROWING!!!!! As far as her sleep habits go, Matalee is sleeping pretty good during the night. She usually goes to bed between 12-1 am and sleeps until about 730-830 am. That’s enough for me!

Matalee is getting better as far as her sleep goes. We usually put her to bed about 10 p.m., and she sleeps until 7:30 or 8:30 in the morning. She is going to a sitter now between 10 am and 2 pm. This has been pretty hard on mommy, but we are making the change pretty well.
Matalee had a great easter. She got a couple of little "tricks" from the easter bunnies!!!! Mamaw and Papaw Walters got her a basket of goodies, and Nana and Papaw Perkins got her a HUGE bunnie. Mamaw and Papaw Neal got her a bunnie as well. But Grandmaw and "G" got to keep her all night. She really enjoyed that.

WOW!!!! Matalee Grace is growing up all at once. It seems like within one week, she has gained like 3-4 pounds. I know that doesnt seem like much to us, but on her chicken legs, its alot. The past month has been great. Matt and Matalee gave mommy a wonderful mothers day, filled with lots of love, and a beautiful card and bracelet.
Matalee is staying at her nanny's house now everyday. I started back to work full time and she seems to be
handling it alot better than I am. We are still trying to decide whether or not to keep her there or take her to a daycare until her Auntie Amber starts to watch her. She is really excited about that!!!
If you didn't know, they are having a girl. She will be named Kaylee. So, we are really excited. Also we want to welcome Clay and Jandyce's new baby girl, Miss Jaden. Keep an eye out here for new updates.

Matalee had a doctors appointment today. She weighed 13 pounds and 11 oz. Not very big hu? Well she has gained alot since we took her out of her old babysitters house. She was 27 3/4 inches long.(we still have no idea where the height is coming from :)" Everything seemed to be okay. Dr. Boarman wants her to start eating table food with us to help her gain some weight. Let me say that she doesn't enjoy it much yet, but i'm sure that she will catch on.
Matalee is rolling over now, as well as starting to sit up. We are such proud parents. She is getting so big. If you haven't visited lately, than make sure that you come by soon!!!! We love you all!
