You may or may not know what the "Triple Crown"is.After you read this you will.It is a horse racing term,and has not happened in 24 years. In 1978 "Afirmed" was the last horse to win the three great races called the Triple Crown,The KY Derby&,The Preakness & The Belmont.

These three races are run in a 5 week period during May & June every year and have existed for 128 years.In all that time only 11 horses have won all 3 races,the last in '78.

Will there be a triple crown winner this year? Most experts say no, but I beg to differ. "WAR EMBLEM",who won the derby & the Preakness,will also win the 11/2 mile Belmont,the longest of the three races.Most don't think he can go that distance because he is a front runner and they think he will tire.They may be right.But the others will also tire if they try to stay with him early.

Baring injury or some other misfortune, "WAR EMBLEM" will go down in history as being a great champion.The twelth horse in 128 years to win the "TRIPLE CROWN"
