THEODORE ROUZE
Theodore and his family lived in Monmouth County NJ, around
Upper Freehold Township, and possibly Jackson and/or Plumsted
Townships (later part of Ocean County).
The family apparently lived on a farm near Israel Ivins,
Johnathan Coward, and Tobias Hendrickson. Theodore and several others (including Thomas
DeBow) were partners in the Monmouth Purchase
Company; a group that purchased and invested in charcoal land. Theodore may have had connections with the
community of Emley’s Hill. Possibly married twice, he had at least 6
daughters (including Sarah, Charity, and Elizabeth/Betsy), and at least 4 sons
(John, Daniel, Joseph, and David). More
