1759 – Living in Amwell Township, Hunderdon County, NJ)

 

WHILDEN (WHELDIN, WILDREN,…) ROUZE

1774 – Married Rebecca Lee  (Amwell Township, Hunterdon County, NJ)

1778 – Living in Amwell

1780 – Rateables taken show him as a householder, with a house and small lot, 2 horses, and 2 pigs (Amwell Township)

1780 – Purchased or sold “wood & carting” for 140 dollars (Flemington, Hunterdon County, NJ)

 

WILLIAM ROUZE

1793 - Enrolled in Upper Freehold Militia  (Monmouth County, NJ)

1808 - Living in E. Windsor Township

 

THEODORE ROUZE

Theodore and his family lived in Monmouth County NJ, around Upper Freehold Township, and possibly Jackson and/or Plumsted Townships (later part of Ocean County).  The family apparently lived on a farm near Israel Ivins, Johnathan Coward, and Tobias Hendrickson.  Theodore and several others (including Thomas DeBow) were partners in the Monmouth Purchase Company; a group that purchased and invested in charcoal land.  Theodore may have had connections with the community of Emley’s Hill.  Possibly married twice, he had at least 6 daughters (including Sarah, Charity, and Elizabeth/Betsy), and at least 4 sons (John, Daniel, Joseph, and David).   More information:

1779 - Sold land to Joseph Page

1793 – Appears in the 1793 list of men between 18 and 45 years of age eligible for the NJ militia.  He is listed with the “troop of horses” for Upper Freehold group No. 7.  

1796 - Listed in census, living in Monmouth County, NJ

1799 – Daughters Sarah and Elizabeth/Betsy, and son Joseph get married.

1803 – He possibly remarried (Mary Ashton??)

1813 - Filed will in Monmouth County, NJ
