3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar
1 cup shortening
1 teaspoon soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup nuts if desired
2 eggs
4 tablespoons hot water
2 1/2 cups flour
1 - 6 ounce chocolate chips

Creme sugars and shortening together. Add soda, salt, vanilla, eggs, hot water, mix then add flour and mix. Add chocolate chips and mix. Add nuts if desired. Drop by teaspoons onto cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees till light brown.
