When I delivered the original version of The Complete Guide To The Beach Boys to my publishers, it comprised not only all the bands' albums but also all the solo projects to date (excepting Bruce's). These didn't make the final cut, purely on the grounds of length - as it was, the book was published some 2500 words over the contracted length of 35,000 and the inclusion of the solo material project would have pushed it close to 40,000 - and have reposed in the electronic bowels of my old Amstrad WP (on loan from the Science Museum) ever since. However, the possibilities opened up by the Internet made it worthwhile extracting the files, dusting them off and revising & updating them for public consumption, so here they are. As with the book, all of the opinions and critical assessments contained within are entirely mine and thus subject to my well-known biases.
In answer to the many inquiries, it's highly unlikely that a revised version of the book itself, covering the forthcoming reissues, will ever be published... but (again) there's always the Net. I also plan, in the near future, to list corrections and additions to the original text.
