The Shadows of Age

The shadows have fallen softly
Over the still and quiet land.
I'm walking fairly quickly.
Why? You can't understand.

I'm not afraid of the dark,
It's not because of the cold,
I'm walking through a park,
And I'm feeling very old.

My looks are suddenly faded,
My skin is wrinkled and dry,
I feel as if I'm outdated,
And life has passed me by.

I'm running away from age,
and the destructive path it's on
It has only to turn a page,
And the remainder of youth is gone.
