MosDef (Black On Both Sides)

Album Ratings:

The question that always was stuck in the back of
my mind was "can mos def carry a solo album and
keep my attention?". I now found the answer, and
the answer is yes! This album is simply Bangin'.
Mos Def has consistently dope lyrics on all the
tracks and also has a nice bevy of beats.
Eventhough Mos has dope skills on the mic, some of
the better songs on the album are the ones where
he is not even rhyeming but doing his singing
thing. An example of this is "Climb".

Most of the Album topics on this album deal with
various aspects of the Black experience which tie
directly to the albums title "Black On Both
Sides". Some range from the various daily trails
of the Black man in songs like "Mr. Nigga"
featuring Q tip on the chrous, and other songs
like "Rock n Roll" deal with Black creations in so
called American mucic. Whatever the Black Topic
is, Mos Def takes a creative venture on alot of
the songs which is a breath of fresh air to all
the stale material that has been coming out as of
late. Ya'll got to pick this one up.
