#000 - Missingno. - A bug accidentally planted into the Pokémon game. Screws up fighting graphics and if kept too long might delete your game. It's a Water/Flying type.
#001 - Bulbasaur - Bulbasaur is a mixture Grass- and Poison-type Pokemon. It has a bulb in it's back that sprouts as it develops, and fully blooms when it reaches it's top stage. Of the first three Pokemon you can choose from, it is the best for beginners.
#002 - Ivysaur - Ivysaur is a more evolved form of it gets stronger.
#003 - Venusaur - Venusaur is Bulbasaur's final evolutionary stage. It is very powerful and poisonous. Watch out!
#004 - Charmander - Charmander is a Fire-type Pokemon. On it's tail is a fiery core. It is cute, but watch out for it's fire. Charmander is a lot harder to win with earlier, so it's better for advanced players.
#005 - Charmeleon - Charmeleon is a more evoled form of Charmander. It grows less cute and more ferocious, and the fire on its tail grows.
#006 - Charizard - Charizard is the final stage of Charmander. It now has some wings, and breathes fire. It takes on a dragon like look. It is a Fire-Flying type Pokémon
#007 - Squirtle - Squirtle is probably the cutest of the first three you can choose. It is a Water-type Pokemon. Squirtle should go to intermediate players.
#008 - Wartortle - Wartortle is a more evolved form of Squirtle. Wartortle can swim well with its ear flaps.
#009 - Blastoise - Blastoise is great against Pokemon weakened by water, thanks to it's two water blasters, one on each shoulder. Blastoise is the final stage for Squirtle.
#010 - Caterpie - Caterpie is a Bug-type Pokemon. Its String Shot attack slows down an enemy's speed, but it more useful in the cartoon.
#011 - Metapod - The next stage for Caterpie, a transition period for it until it gets to its next stage. Metapod focuses on defense, and doesn't do much else.
#012 - Butterfree - The last stage in the Caterpie evolution, Butterfree uses special attacks such as Psybeam and Sleep Powder, Stun Spore, and more. Butterfree is classified as a Bug-Flying Pokémon.
#013 - Weedle - Weedle is a combination Poison- and Bug-type. Many of its attacks are poisonous.
#014 - Kakuna - Kakuna is like Metapod, it is a transitional stage from Weedle to its highest form. Kakuna also focuses on defense, but it differs from Metapod in that it also can poison an enemy if you have evolved it from Weedle.
#015 - Beedrill - The last stage fon is a combination Poison-Ground Pokémon.
#016 - Pidgey - Pidgey is a Flying-type Pokemon. It could be the first one wild Pokémon you encounter. Pidgey is not that great, but I believe Pidgey and its evolved forms are the best of all the Flying-types.
#017 - Pidgeotto - Pidgeotto is a more evolved form of Pidgey. If you get Pidgeotto soon, it can be useful, especially for using Fly technique.
#018 - Pidgeot - Pidgeot is the most evolved form of Pidgey, and is a pretty good fighter, but takes awhile to reach.
#019 - Rattata - Rattata is a rat, and is classified as a Normal-type Pokemon. It also might be the first one you find. It isn't too powerful.
#020 - Raticate - Raticate is a more evolved form of Rattata, and is the most eveolved form Rattata will reach. It uses its fangs to unleash powerful Hyper Fang and Super Fang attacks.
#021 - Spearow - Spearow is a Normal-Flying type Pokémon. It is not as good as Pidgey. Trade a Spearow in Vermilion City for a Farfetch'd.
#022 - Fearow - Fearow is the most evolved form of Spearow. While Spearow has short tiny wings, Fearow has long, graceful wings that allow it to just float for a long amount of time.
#023 - Ekans - Ekans is a snake-like creature that is classified as a Poison-type Pokemon. Ekans doesn't have much more than Bind and Posion Sting.
#024 - Arbok - Arbok is the most evolved form of Ekans. It has markings on its underside that other Arbok can use to identify each other.
#025 - Pikachu - Pikachu is an Electric-type Pokemon. Pikachu is probably the most-popular Pokemon in the game. Get one in Viridian Forest, and it will be useful for a battle with Misty in Cerulean City.
#026 - Raichu - Raichu is the most evolved form of Pikachu. But beware, as Raichu can not learn any new moves, whereas Pikachu can learn new moves up to about level 43.
#027 - Sandshrew - Sandshrew is a Ground-type Pokemon. He is pretty good to get, especially for a battle with Lt. Surge in Vermilion City. Not available in the Red Version.
#028 - Sandslash - Sandslash is the more evolved form of Sandshrew. It has huge claws that slash through enemies, and quills on its back.
#029 - Nidoran (female) - There are two types of this Pokemon, Nidoran, a male and a female. They are both poison
#030 - Nidorina - The next stage for Nidoran (female). Nidorina likes to attack like claws and teeth.
#031 - Nidoqueen - The most evolved form of Nidoran (female). Nidoqueen uses its tail to attack. Nidoqueen is a combination Poison-Ground Pokémon.
#032 - Nidoran (male) - Nidoran (male) is the male type of these rhino-like animals. Its a Poison like Nidorino.
#033 - Nidorino - Nidorino is the next stage for Nidoran (male). The Nidorino likes to use the protruding horn on its head to attack.
#034 - Nidoking - Nidoking is the most evolved form of Nidoran (male). Nidoking is a Poison-Ground type Pokémon. This Pokémon has a huge horn that allows it to attack with great power.
#035 - Clefairy - Clefairy is a Normal-type Pokemon. It's best attack is the Metronome. With the Metronome, Clefairy will use a random attack from the over 160 techniques there are!
#036 - Clefable - Clefable is the more evolved form of Clefairy. Clefable are not found in the wild, because they are even shyer than Clefairy.
#037 - Vulpix - Vulpix is a Fire-type Pokemon. It is a fox-like creature with six tails. As it evolves, Vulpix grows more tails. Vulpix is one of my favorite Pokémon.
#038 - Ninetales - Ninetales is the more evolved form of Vulpix. As the name implies, Ninetales has nine tails.
#039 - Jigglypuff - Jigglypuff is a Normal-type Pokemon. It has big eyes and is pretty circular. Jigglypuff can be difficult if it uses its Sing to put a Pokémon to sleep.
#40 - Wigglypuff - Wigglypuff is the more evolved form of Jigglypuff. Wigglytuff is the only Moon Stone-evolved Pokémon found in the wild.
#041 - Zubat - Zubat is a Poison- and Flying-type Pokemon. Zubat use Leech Life and Supersonic to confuse foes.
#042 - Golbat - Golbat is the more evolved form of Zubat. It's Supersonic attack confuses enemies. It also learns Confuse Ray, which is kind of redundant to Supersonic.
#043 - Oddish - This grass-poison type Pokémon doesn't know very many attacks. Like most grass Pokémon, it has a variety of special attacks. It uses Absorb and Poisonpowder until it evolves.
#044 - Gloom - A more evolved form of Oddish, Gloom is very stationary, giving it low speed. This allows you to get the first attack off. However, a blast of Stun Spore can paralyze you, allowing Gloom to attack first.
#045 - Vileplume - The most evolved form of Oddish, Vileplume has a big flower on its head from which the attacks come from.
#046 - Paras - Paras is a Bug- and Grass-type Pokemon. It has two mushroom parasites growing out of its back.
#047 - Parasect - Parasect is the more evolved form of Paras. Nearly all the attacks come from the parasitic mushroom which has taken over its host bug.
#048 - Venonat - A bug- and poison-type Pokémon. Venonat likes bright lights.
#049 - Venomoth - The more evolved form of Venonat, Venomoth is a Bug-Psychic Pokémon. Its uses Psybeam and Stun Spore, Sleep Powder, and Poisonpowder.
#050 - Diglett - Diglett is a Ground-type Pokemon. It is very weak, so be careful not to knock it out with one hit. But its offense is good, so be careful. A higher-level Diglett will use Dig.
#051 - Dugtrio - Dugtrio is the more evolved form of Diglett, and features three Dilgetts together.
#052 - Meowth - Meowth is a Normal-type Pokemon, but he is very useful. Meowth is only useful with something like Body Slam or Mega Punch (find those TMs).
#053 - Persian - Persian is the evolved form of Meowth. Persian looks like a white panther more than a cat. It has shapr and long claws. This can be a dangerous Pokémon.
#054 - Psyduck - Psyduck is a Water type Pokémon. It has Confusion, but Psyduck isn't very powerful.
#055 - Golduck - Golduck is the more evolved form of Psyduck. Golduck has an odd lock to it, kind of like a Japanese monster. It can swim with the best of them, however.
#056 - Mankey - Mankey is a Fighting-type Pokemon. He relies on physical attacks, and avoids many attacks well.
#057 - Primeape - Primape is the more evolved form of Mankey. Primeape is constantly mad.
#058 - Growlithe - Growlithe is a Fire-type Pokemon. Growlithe has fur like fire. Evolve into Arcanine with a Fire Stone.
#059 - Arcanine - Arcanine is the more evolved form of Growlithe. Its awesome fire power makes it popular with Blaine's Gym.
#060 - Poliwag - Poliwag is a Water Pokémon. Poliwag is bad, and it only knows crappy attacks such as Bubble.
#061 - Poliwhirl - Poliwhirl is a more evolved form of Poilwag. Poliwhirl is a frog-like thing, whereas Poliwag is a tadpole. Makes sense. Poliwhirl uses the circle in the middle of its body to unleash Hypnosis.
#062 - Poliwrath - Poliwrath is the most evolved form of Poliwag. It is a combo Water-Fighting Pokémon, making it weak against electric and psychic Pokémon.
#063 - Abra - Abra is a Phychic-type Pokemon. It doesn't do anything except Teleport to escape from battle, making it a hard catch in the wild.
#064 - Kadabra - Kadabra is a more evolved form of Abra. Kadabra learns numerous psychic attacks, including Psychic and Psybeam, but also at Level 43 learns the useful Reflect to give it armor, which it is in bad need of.
#065 - Alakazam - Alakazam is the most evolved form of Abra. Alakazam can learn moves also. This Pokémon is one of the hardest Pokémon to beat in the game to me, especially the final battle with rival.
#066 - Machop - Machop is a Fighting-type Pokemon. It is like Mankey. Machop is made of pure muscle. Like most fighting-type Pokémon, I don't like to use Machop.
#067 - Machoke - Machoke is a more evolved form of Machop. It is pretty powerful, but to make fighting attacks more useful, trade it for a Machamp.
#068 - Machamp - Machamp is the most evolved form of Machop. When it evolves, it gains an extra set of arms in the process. Perhaps the third best fighting Pokémon behind Hitmonlee and Hitmonchan.
#069 - Bellsprout - Bellsprout is a Grass-Poison Pokémon. It uses Wrap to keep Pokémon from attacking while slowly weakening their HP. Bellsprout with their Wrap can be very frustrating.
#070 - Weepinbell - Weepinbell is a more evolved form of Bellsprout. Weepinbell can use Stun Spore and then just keep using Wrap to keep enemies from attacking.
#071 - Victreebel - Victreebell is the most evolved form of Bellsprout. While Victreebel knows the same moves as Weepinbell, it is more powerful using them.
#072 - Tentacool - Tentacool is a Water-Poison Pokémon. It can use Acid to sometimes poison a Pokémon, or at least hurt them badly.
#073 - Tentacruel - Tentacruel is a more evolved form of Tentacool. It has many arms to attack with.
#074 - Geodude - Geodude is a rock-ground Pokémon. Geodude are found in many caves, but not the Seafom Islands, beause they are weakened by water.
#075 - Graveler - Graveler is a more evolved form of Geodude. Graveler grow legs instead of just being a torso, and also get much bigger.
#076 - Golem - Golem is the most evolved form of Geodude. Golem have a circular turtle shell and has a head now. It is very strong. It is very doubtful you'll see a Golem in the game unless you battle a friend or get one yourself.
#077 - Ponyta - A fire Pokémon, Ponyta is like a horse on fire. Ponyta have hard hooves too.
#078 - Rapidash - Rapidash is a more evolved form of Ponyta. Rapidash takes on a unicornish look with the horn on its head. The fire surrounding its body gets stronger.
#079 - Slowpoke - Slowpoke is a Water-Psychic Pokémon with weak psychic and water attacks. Teach it Surf and Psychic to make it more powerful.
#080 - Slowbro - Slowbro is a more evolved form of Slowpoke. Slowbro is just a Slowpoke that has a Shellder attached to its tail. In account of this, apparently, Slowbro grows and gains claws.
#081 - Magnemite - Magnemite is an electric Pokémon. Magnemite is basically a couple magnets attached to a metal ball with an eye. Quite odd.
#082 - Magneton - Magneton is the more evolved form of Magnemite. Magneton is three Magnemites magnetically attracted to each other, making the whole stronger than each of the individual parts.
#083 - Farfetch'd - Farfetch'd does not evolve. It will gain in strength, but will not change. It is a Normal- and Flying- Pokemon. The only way to get a Farfetch'd is to trade someone in Vermilion City for a common Spearow.
#084 - Doduo - Doduo is a normal-flying Pokémon, but it can't technically fly, since it has no wings. It does have, however, two heads attached to the same body, if that counts for anything.
#085 - Dodrio - Dodrio is the more evolved form of Doduo. Dodrio gain a head in evolution, and each face shows a different emotion, happiness, sorrow, and anger.
#086 - Seel - Seel is a Water-type Pokémon, but it is a bad one because it only knows Headbutt and one other attack, and those aren't very effective due to low attack on the part of Seel.
#087 - Dewgong - Dewgong is the more evolved form of Seel. Dewgong has a bigger horn and is more graceful than Seel, but is very similar to Seel. The Aurora Beam it has is powerful.
#088 - Grimer - Grimer is a poison type Pokémon. Grimer are basically living slime.
#089 - Muk - Muk is the more evolved form of Grimer. Muk uses advanced poison attacks such as Sludge.
#090 - Shellder - Shellder is a Water Pokémon. It can learn Clamp, which is like Wrap. But Shellder usually is more playful than dangerous.
#091 - Cloyster - Cloyster is the more evolved form of Shellder. You have to worry about Cloyster. It only opens its highly protective shell to attack. The inards have never been seen.
#092 - Gastly - Gastly is a Ghost-Poison type Pokemon. It is usually an invisible Pokémon, and looks like a ball of gas ith a ball of eyes and mouth.
#093 - Haunter - Haunter is a more evolved form of Gastly. Haunter learns Dream Eater, a frightening psychic attack which eats the dreams of sleeping Pokémon, and restores the HP of the attacking Pokémon. It's pretty cool. Haunter is a body with hands not quite attached to its body.
#094 - Gengar - Gengar is the most evolved form of Gastly. Gengar is the only Ghost Pokémon to have a fully formed body. It, like the other Ghosts, won't be affected by physical attacks.
#095 - Onix - Onix also does not evolve. It is a Rock-Ground type Pokemon. It is the tallest Pokémon on record, at more than 23 feet
#096 - Drowzee - Drowzee is a Phychic-type Pokemon. It doesn't have powerful attacks, but it can knock your Pokemon asleep and beat on it. Drowzee have good defense.
#097 - Hypno - Hypno is the more evolved form of Drowzee. Hypno has a pendulum like thing to perform Hypnosis attacks. I hate Hypno, trying to beat them is hard.
#098 - Krabby - Krabby is a Water Pokémon. It has semi-powerful attacks, such as Vice-Grip, but low defense.
#099 - Kingler - Kingler is the more evolved form of Krabby. It has huge pincers which are used to balance each other out. It one gets off-center, Kingler can fall over.
#100 - Voltorb - Voltorb is an Electric-type Pokemon who looks like a Poke Ball. Voltorb can use Sonic Boom if a trainer picks it up believing it to be a Poké Ball.
#101 - Electrode - Electrode is the more evolved form of Voltorb. While still looking like a Poké Ball, it now is larger and conatins a sneering mouth. Its Self-Destruct attack will damage greatly, but it will kill off the Electrode. Use it only it you are almost dead as a parting shot.
#102 - Exeggcute - Evolve it into Exeggutor with the Leaf Stone. Exeggcute's main attack is Hypnosis. Exeggcute is a Grass Psychic-type. Exeggcute looks like a bunch of eggs.
#103 - Exeggutor - Exeggutor is the more evolved form of Exeggcute. Exegguotr is a five headed tree. It can throw the heads of coconuts for its Barrage attack.
#104 - Cubone - Cubone is a Ground-type Pokémon which fashions wepaons and armor from the bones of other Pokémon. It wears a helmet of bone, mso this Pokémon's face has never been seen.
#105 - Marowak - Marowak is the more evolved form of Cubone. Marowak is known as the "Bonekeeper", due to its expertise with the weapon it carries, the bone. It also grows a spike on its tail.
#106 - Hitmonlee - Hitmonlee is a Fighting-type Pokemon. It is a very good kickboxer. The kicking fiend, Hitmonlee uses purely kicking attacks.
#107 - Hitmonchan - Hitmonlee is a Fighting-type Pokémon. It attacks with its hands, and they are very fast. It only uses punches to attack others.
#108 -Lickitung - Linkitung does not evolve. Lickitung has a big tongue. It also uses atacks such as Stomp.
#109 - Koffing - Koffing is a Poison-type Pokémon who will try to poison your Pokémon. It stores many types of gases in its body, making it highly volitale.
#110 - Weezing Weezing is the more evolved form of Koffing. The multi-headed Weezing carries not gas in its body, but liquid, making it heavier and denser than Koffing.
#111 - Rhyhorn - Rhyhorn is a Rock-Ground Pokémon. Rhyhorn has extremely strong armor, 1000 times the strength of human bones.
#112 - Rhydon - Rhydon is the more evolved form of Rhyhorn. Rhydon can stand on two hind legs, instead of four legs like Rhyhorn. Rhydon is a pretty strong fighter, but watch for water or grass attacks.
#113 - Chansey - Chansey is a Normal-type Pokémon, but it is not built for battle. It uses Double-Edge as its main attack. Chansey are extremely hard to get. Chansey do not evolve.
#114 - Tangela - Tangela is one of the more odd Pokémon. Its entire body is swathed in blue vines, allowing it to use Bind for a while. Occansionally can use Stun Spore. Tangela is a Grass-Posion Pokémon.
#115 - Kangaskhan - Kangaskhan is a Normal Pokémon. Kangaskhan carries its baby in its pouch. The baby won't leave the parent's protective pouch for up to three years. Its like a kangaroo built for battle.
#116 - Horsea - Horsea is a water-type Pokémon. Horsea doesn't attack very well. It focuses on defense, but isn't too great at that, either.
#117 - Seadra - Seadra is the more evolved form of Horsea. While more powerful, Seadra still has low attributes, making this Pokémon very difficult to use.
#118 - Goldeen - Goldeen is a Water Pokémon. It uses the horn on its head to attack using Horn Attack, but not much else. Seems to be a symptom of many wtaer Pokémon.
#119 - Seaking - Seaking is the more evolved form of Goldeen. Seaking has a big horn, but can't uses much else. Less than desirable Pokémon.
#120 - Staryu - Staryu is a Water-type Pokemon. Staryu can be useful, because of its Recover. Harden isn't worth much, however.
#121 - Starmie - Starmie is the evolved form of Staryu. Starmie is a Water-Psychic, which makes it very useful indeed, allowing you to match psychic Pokémon with a Pokémon that will defense the attacks well and then uses water attacks to hit them hard! I think Starmie is the second best water Pokémon behind Blastoise.
#122 - Mr. Mime Mr. Mime is a Psychic-type Pokémon, and uses a variety of defensive moves to strengthen its defense. Not much offense from this one.
#123 - Scyther Scyther is a Pokémon of the Bug and Flying type. It is a good one to use Cut (HM01) on. Only found in the Safari Zone or the Celadon City Game Corner in the Red version.
#124 - Jynx - Jynx is a Ice-Psychic Pokémon with a high speed, allowing it to attack first many times. Jynx's Ice Punch is difficult to defend against. Tough Pokémon to hit but land an attack and its could be enough to beat it.
#125 - Electabuzz - Electabuzz is an electric Pokémon. It uses Thunderpunch and more to attack. Frankly, Pikachu is a much best electric Pokémon than this one only found in the Red Version.
#126 - Magmar - A Pokémon only found in the Blue version, Magmar's enitre body glows with a orange-red flame, allowing it to hide perfectly among flames. Magmar is a Fire-type Pokémon.
#127 - Pinsir - A Bug-Pokémon, Pinsir uses the two sharp and long horns to attack. Pinsir is only found in the Blue Version.
#128 - Tauros - Tauros is a Normal Pokémon. It looks rather like a bull. Tauros is one of the most difficult Pokémon to catch. Only found in rare quantities in the Safari Zone, Tauros will break out of a Safari Ball many times, frustrating you to no end.
#129 - Magikarp - Magikarp is a Water Pokémon. This useless thing cannot attack with anything but Splash (which does nothing) until Level 16, when it learns Tackle. Everything about this Pokémon is bad, including all the attributes.
#130 - Gyarados - Gyarados is a Water-Flying Pokémon. The evolved form of Magikarp, everything rises immensely, making it the strongest evolved form compared to its original form. Gyarados' Dragon Rage is hard to defend.
#131 - Lapras - This Water Pokémon is known as the Water Horse. This Pokémon is like a giant turtle with a long neck and big flippers. It can ferry people across the water.
#132 - Ditto - This Normal-type Pokémon is one of the most versitale Pokémon in the game, since it can use Transform to change itself into any enemy Pokémon and use their attacks also.
#133 - Eevee - Eevee is a Normal-type, and is also unusual, in that using stones to evolve it with change it into one of three different types. Use Water Stone to make Vaporeon, Thunder Stone to make Jolteon, and Fire Stone to make Flareon (my favorite).
#134 - Vaporeon - This Water-type evolved form of Eevee uses a variety of water attacks. It looks like a mermaid almost.
#135 - Jolteon - Jolteon is the electric evolution of Eevee. It uses some elctric attacks to hurt foes. It has spikes like it has been electrocuted.
#136 - Flareon - This firey Pokémon is the Fire Stone-evolved form of Eevee. Flareon looks like a big fluff ball, but it has powerful flame attacks.
#137 - Porygon - Porygon is the only Pokémon who can exist freely in cyberspace. It is a Pokémon made entirely from computer programming. It has a unique attack, Conversation, which it uses to change its type (Normal) to its enemy's type. Porygon does not evolve.
#138 - Omanyte - Use the Helix Fossil to ressurect this prehistoric Pokémon. Omanyte is a Rock Water type, one of the oddest types in all of Pokémon. It looks like a seashell.
#139 - Omastar - The evolved form of Omanyte, Omastar is bigger. It gets its name from the star shape it makes. Omastar died out because it was too big to move and catch prey.
#140 - Kabuto - This Pokémon comes from the Dome Fossil. Kabuto is a Rock Ground type. Kabuto is a big clam shell which Slashing claws.
#141 - Kabutops - This evolved form of Kabuto is a lot different than its original form. Kabutops has legs and long claws. It has a head and body now.
#142 - Aerodactyl - Using the Old Amber, you can resurrect this vicious prehistoric Pokémon in Cinnabar Island. This Rock-Flying Pokémon uses the serrated jaws on its mouth to attack enemies.
#143 - Snorlax - This sleepy Pokémon is only found twice in the game. Snorlax is a Normal Pokémon. It is also the largest Pokémon on record, at over 1,000 pounds. Its main technique is Rest, where it falls asleep for two turns and restores its energy fully.
#144 - Articuno - This arctic Pokémon is very rare indeed. Articuno is a Ice-Flying Pokémon, and there is only one in the entire game. If you muff it up, you'll have to trade for it.
#145 - Zapdos - Another legdenary Flying Pokémon (others being Articuno and Zapdos), Zapdos is an electric-flying Pokémon. Zapdos also appears only once.
#146 - Moltres - The last of the legendary flying Pokémon, Moltres is a fire-flying Pokémon. Predictably, Moltres is only available once.
#147 - Dratini - This little eel Pokémon is very rare indeed. Dratini can only be found by fishing in the Safari Zone. It is a dragon-type Pokémon, but it is pretty weak.
#148 - Dragonair - The next stage in the evoltionary cycle for Dratini, it is only longer and slightly more powerful than Dratini.
#149 - Dragonite - This extremly rare Pokémon is powerful indeed. Another dragon, this Pokémon has the super powerful Hyper Beam, which drains a lot of damage but has a drawback. Once used, it will take Dragonite one turn to recharge.
#150 - Mewtwo - Found in the Mysterious Cave if you are a Pokémon champ, Mewtwo is the most powerful Pokémon and hardest to capture wild. At Level 70, it has four moves, but none help you to win. Reflect, Psychic, Swift and Recover either hurt you bad or make Mewtwo better. This is a Pokémon of the Psychic type.
#151 - Mew - The rarest of them all, Mew is a Psychic-type Pokémon.
