Oh man, the most embarressing thing happened to me in theater today! A group of us were doing improv scenes, and I was partnered up with this guy Cim. The rest of the people playing chose the scene: we were going out and I was secretly a guy, but he didn't know it. So he was pointing out odd things about me, I admitted I was a guy, he said, "We'll see," and unzipped the shirt I was wearing! I instinctively crossed my arms over my chest, and everyone reassured me they hadn't seen anything. Cim was like, "I thought it was like a sweatshirt," (stupid, I was wearing an unzipped sweatshirt over the other one) then said, "Well she didn't try to stop me!" How the heck was I supposed to know he was gonna do that, it was a quick motion and despite what I like to claim I'm not psychic. Dang I was so embarressed!
On a more positive note, I won a bet with my friend Darrell cuz his favorite wrestler lost his match Sunday, which turned out to be against a girl. I didn't see it and bluffed saying, "Hey Darrell, where's my dollar?" (big bet huh?). He started making excuses of course, tried convincing me to bet double or nothing for the next match, then finally said he didn't have a dollar with him. I'll just have to keep bugging him now so he'll pay up.

Well, we're done performing Wizard of Oz. I added on to my tale about the munchkins being aliens, saying they were also trying to take over the world with Pinky and the Brain. Some of the kids looked surprised and were like, "Really?" So fun messing with gullible kids' minds. One of my friends heard me saying that and added, "Beware the evil penguins!" Another person in our cast said that was mean, yadda yadda yadda, but some people tell me saying munchkins are aliens is mean too, so I think it's just that people at our school are way too sensitive. No big surprise. Most were girls too.
We got Thursday off from school for Veterens Day, but had to go back Friday, which was really weird. I spent Thursday thinking it was Saturday, Friday thinking it was Monday, and yesterday being really confused. Went to a football game Friday night; our team really sucks, both JV and Varsity got their butts kicked. I have a ton of homework, about six or seven math assignments to make up from missing that class for the play, and, ugh, chemistry homework, which he gave us a week ago and of course I haven't even started. It's all due tomorrow and so far I've done all but two of the math assignments, so that's not bad. Umm....not much else to say I guess, last week really sucked, I have this talent where I'm always running into assholes at school that enjoy messing with my life. Heh heh, little do they know I don't have a life in the first place so ha! Whoops, did I say that out loud? Oh well, it was probably obvious anyway.
11/6/99
I added some more pix of me and my friends to the About Me page, something to the Penguins page, and a few new links.
Wow, it feels like I haven't updated for a long time. Probably cuz lots of stuff is always going on, and my brothers never let me on here to update. Oh well. Halloween was cool; I went to my friend's house and we actually went trick-or-treating cuz hey, free candy! We made sure to have masks so no one would recognize us or know for sure how old we are, though other juniors from our school went too. I got tons of candy anyway, so there! And we scared some little kids without even trying. That's always fun.
We've been performing Wizard of Oz for elementary schools, which has been fun even with my dinky, sucky part as a munchkin. It gets me out of two of my least favorite classes (math & Spanish) so I'm happy! Plus when we've been shaking hands, high-fiving, and saying bye to the kids after the play, I've been telling some of them that the munchkins are actually aliens. Those kids are really stupid too. They don't laugh at the funny stuff, but they always crack up when the lion says he's afraid of the dark and "silly wizard, trix are for kids!" (both lines we added). Some of them were laughing at our he-she witch (a guy playing the female witch) for no reason and yelling, "you suck!" too, so they deserve whatever junk I tell them.
We got two correctives days this week (three blocks to make-up work/goof-off and short classes). Most of the time we were in photo messing around and playing cards, till the teacher told us cards aren't allowed at school. Funny, the principal didn't say that when he walked by and we were playing cards in the cafeteria. Anyway, we started this game of Skittle table hockey where we were trying to get the skittle to slide off the table past eachother and played that for about an hour. Simple things amuse simple minds, and we're very easily amused people. I know, you want to know the answer to a very important question: what color was the skittle? Well, if I told you, then I'd have to kill you. What the heck, it was yellow. At least, it was when we first started playing. By the time we were done, most of the shell was chipped off and there was some disgusting dirt and stuff on it. Yummy. Wow, I wasted a lot of space on our stupid game. Once again, yes I have no life.
10/30/99
Man, my brother Joe is such an asshole! Wednesday we had a minimum day, so my friend Becky came over after school. Joe was picking us up that day, and at first refused to give her a ride. Then he went straight instead of turning where we normally do, so I asked where we were going. He got all mad, started yelling and cussing, and said he was taking a different way home. So he drove this way longer way around that took twice as long to get home, just to tick me off, then when we were almost there said, "There Angela, happy now?" As soon as we got home he started fighting with my mom, so me and Becky took off to walk around. Later when Joe was gone we were watching a video. He returned, walked in, and turned it off. My mom yelled at him, he said he was doing homework and it was too loud, refusing to do it somewhere else. I turned the video on again, turned the volume down, and he turned it off. I turned it on a third time and he, surprise!, turned it off again. By then him and my mom were fighting again, so once again we left. Dang that was embarressing in front of my friend. I mean, we don't fight and act immature when his stupid friends are over. Asshole.
Anyway, classes have been going pretty well. In chem the other day, our teacher was doing this experiment, putting acid and tin foil in a beaker with a balloon over the top. The balloon was taking a long time to blow up like it was supposed to, so our teacher said, "Stupid book, saying to use a weak acid," and got a stronger one. The balloon inflated, he pulled it off, tied a knot, and held a lighter under it. You were supposed to use a candle on a meter stick, but another teacher had said the lighter would be long enough. The ballon exploded with a little flame and our teacher was like, "Ow." It was pretty funny, but maybe that's cuz I don't care for that teacher and hate that class.
PE's been fun lately; we've been playing indoor soccor, and I'm actually pretty good at it. I have fun, even though I get my shins beat up, kicked, hit by the ball, etc. We're starting to perform Wizard of Oz in theater next week and man it sucks having the smallest bit part as a munchkin and nothing else! Electronics I've been continuing to annoy people along with my brother Matt, though two guys we talk to every now and then found out we were siblings and were surprised; they'd been thinking something else very wrong about us. I hate how that happens with me and my bros. Yet another thing that annoys me.
10/26/99
You know what's really been annoying me lately? Practically every time I go over to talk to my friend Darrell when he's standing with his friends, they all quiet down, then moments after I start talking to him, all of them suddenly disappear, either moving somewhere else in a group or leaving somewhere else entirely. Dang that ticks me off! Maybe I resemble an ax murderer or something. Or maybe since I'm a girl I'm not worthy to talk to them, even though I have plenty of guy friends. Stupid jerks.
Well other than that, which has been happening for a while now, my week's going pretty good. Sunday my best friend Michelle called me from the boot camp she just graduated from in Texas, so I got to talk to her for a while for the first time in two months. My brothers Mike and Paul are spending all this week, Mon-Fri, at a camp in Sly Park, Mike as a counselor and Paul as a campee. Yes! Two of my brothers have been gotten rid of for a week! And my oldest brother Joe is working a ton this week, so I won't see him much either. The only one left over here is Matt, and he's the one I get along with best, so that's cool.
Oh man, I was messing around on my way to theater, randomly turning in a circle every now and then while walking. I did that on the wet grass, slipped, and fell. Then when I stood up I saw some guys nearby cracking up cuz they saw my fall. Must be some talent of mine, looking like an idiot and hurting myself. Wonder if there's anyway to make a profit off of that....
10/23/99
I've actually been doing stuff lately. Wednesday night I went to the lipsync contest at our school, and it was hecka funny! First place went to an Austin Powers one, which included a cross-dressing guy who some people thought was actually female at first and were saying how fine she was. There was an eighties group that did a mix of songs with one girl dressed as Michael Jackson and another as McJagger, which was also really funny and good; they came in second. Another group did a rock song, playing brooms and stuff as instruments, actually making it look very realistic. And then of course there had to be Britney Spears and Backstreet Boys as well.
Thurday night I went to the boys soccor game at our school, spent the whole time talking to one of my friends, then ended up leaving halfway through cuz we both had quite a bit of homework to do and it was getting late. This morning I went to a cross-country meet that I'd promised my friend Jason I'd go to; since he'd been unable to convince me to join with him I figured I'd go cheer for him and talk to him for a while. My youngest brother Paul decided to tag along and followed me around the whole time. It was pretty fun; I don't get to talk to Jason nearly as much anymore as I used to. I encouraged the runners on our team as they went by, but that was kinda strange considering Jason had informed me they still make fun of the way I used to run on track (they were imitating it last year in front of me once). Geez, it's not like I can help the way I run! Some people at our school are so dang judgemental, it makes me sick.
10/18/99
Been updating my page some, added more to the Penguin and Pyscho Thoughts pages. Soon as my brother fixes the problems with our scanner, I'll add some new pix to the About Me part too.
Well, I have a nice little collection of toys to play with at school building up in my backpack: a stuffed penguin, wind-up penguin, hackie sack ball, rubber ball, stalker glasses, card deck, camera, and some other junk. Gotta keep amused at school somehow. Like today in theater I was playing with this stuffed penguin that makes a noise supposedly like the noise real ones make (which actually sounds more like someone screaming) when you squeeze it, so I was having it do that when everyone was quiet. It was pretty fun.
10/15/99
Well, I almost got hit by a car again when I was riding my bike the other day. I was going across a cross-walk in front of them, they weren't paying attention and started moving, but fortunately slammed on the brakes just in time, stopping about half a foot away from me. Talk about close calls. I managed to hurt my leg yesterday too. I was backing the car down the driveway a bit more so I could open the garage, hit the gas instead of the brakes, sped down the driveway, found the brakes, and hit them. One of my legs was hanging partially out of the car, and when I sped down the driveway the door slammed on it. So now I got two bumps on my leg that are becoming darkly bruised. Fun.
I had fun in PE though today, even with a hurt leg. We got to play soccor, and I was actually kicking butt. Cept once me and this guy ran into eachother trying to get the ball, and he fell on the ground, curling up in pain cuz my knee had hit him in....well, a very sensitive area, or as he called it, his "manhood." Fortunately the guy's really good-natured and wasn't seriously angery or anything, though he was telling everyone to stay away from me and just let me have the ball. I kept stealing it from guys on his team too, which resulted in comments like, "Oh, she just slammed you!" It was fun though. Another cool thing, my friend Darrell transferred into the swimming class in my PE period; he tried getting in team sports (my class), but it's full right now. Gives me someone interesting to talk to before and after that class anyway.
We had correctives at our school, three blocks to make up work, lunch, then short classes. I didn't have any work to make up, so I got to goof-off during the blocks. Played some cards, annoyed the librarians, bugged my brother Matt and his friends....I had to go to theater one block to work with the other munchkins on how to rap "Ding dong the witch is dead." It was fun doing that too; when we were practicing it one last time, a bunch of seniors waiting to go in there were watching from an open door and this other guy had just come in another door. I'm sure they got a good laugh out of that!
10/11/99
I been having fun messing around lately. Last week my friend Becky gave me my birthday present (about two monthes late but oh well), which included a wind-up penguin that waddles around and some stalker sunglasses that have built-in mirrors on the sides so you can see behind you. Excellent to watch out for penguins. Tons of people were trying on the glasses and want some now. I keep playing with the penguin and making it waddle off high ledges, then using it to make noise when it's quiet in electronics. Today I got this little hackie-sack (a bean bag ball) from our grandpa that I kept tossing up in the air and catching, even in electronics after our test when we couldn't talk. During lunch I was amusing myself rolling it at the penguin and knocking it down to kill it. Now the interesting thing about the penguin is I always face it so it's walking away from me, then it always turns around and starts walking towards me. Told ya they're evil; it was trying to attack me man! That's why I feel the compulsive need to be constantly killing it. Lots of fun toys now in my backpack for amusement. Excellent.
10/10/99
Wow, busy week, and pretty good too after I got through the first two days. Nick found out it was Matt who dumped salad dressing on his sweater and spent all of lunch Wednesday telling me he's going to kill him. I finally replied, "You keep saying that, but you haven't done anything." He said he was getting his friends to help beat him up, which I thought was pathetic and said so. Later I asked who his friends were that were going to beat up my bro, and his response was, "Me, myself, and I." Then he just resorted to insulting me cuz we both knew he wasn't actually going to do anything since he's a coward. Lame insults too, telling me to go eat something and trying to use my family being poor as an insult, which I simply came back with, "I'd rather be broke than a rich asshole like you."
Anyway, the past two days have been great! Friday night I went to our homecoming game; we got our butts kicked 21-42. They had a good halftime show with the royal court, class floats, and fireworks. At the start of our varsity game, two people parachuted down onto the field. The float contest was rigged; ours was awesome with way more effort put into it than the others, but it tied for third with the freshman's, which was hecka sucky. I went and helped work on our float one evening too since my brother Mike told me about ten people had asked why I wasn't there. A bunch of our friends went to the game and were all messing around the whole time.
Last night was our homecoming dance. I got a haircut (which I'm still trying to get used to cuz it's really short) and a new dress for it, which was cool. Even more of my friends in our group went to it, and we just had a blast! We were doing funny group dances to the songs, all lining up for YMCA and doing some moves we'd made up called the lawnmower and shopping cart at the same time making fun of that and other stupid songs, standing in a circle with our arms around eachother all swaying together while loudly singing "Last Kiss," just totally having a great time. I danced with some of my guy friends during most of the slow songs, while my friend Becky snapped pictures of everyone. Even my brother Mike had a great time, afterwards saying, "I'm going to all the dances this year!" (that was the first one he'd ever gone to). Just an overall terrific night.
10/5/99
Man, what a sucky week! And I'm only two days into it too. Kinda ruining the joy of having a spirit week for homecoming with extended lunches and all. Yesterday I felt sick before school till somtime during my second class. Then, since I was feeling better, I decided to go ride my bike after school. Over a mile from my house, I tried to go up this dent in the sidewalk, but my bike skidded against the side and went over. I had to walk it home limping and looking like road kill with my knuckles bleeding, my knee hurting bad, scrapes all over, and even tire marks on one leg. Lovely huh?
This morning I felt even sicker than yesterday, really bad stomach ache. I came exteremely close to just going back home. It very gradually improved after my first class, and I felt better by the time I got to my third class, PE, which was fortunate cuz I didn't have a note to get out of doing stuff in there. So I did everything half-heartedly and was okay. Then I ate most of my sandwich for lunch and drank a little soda, which made me feel sick again for a while; I was back to normal for the last part of lunch.
Okay, I was by our lunch table, yelling to my friend Jason on the other side of it, telling him I couldn't go over there cuz someone was blocking where I could go to get to him. That was an insult meant for this guy Nick who was sitting at the table and has been being a complete asshole to me all year and the end of last year. He threw his banana at me, so I picked it up, peeled it partway (by then he was running, or waddling in his case), went over to him, and smooshed part of the banana against his shirt. So then he dumped salad dressing in my hair to get me back. Now that was cruel. He ran off when he saw how ticked-off I was. I had bees following me around cuz they were after the salad dressing. I did go in the bathroom and tried washing most of it out, but even now my hair still looks wet from the fats and oil that was in the dressing. Disgusting huh? And Nick was complaining about a little banana on his t-shirt.
Anyway, I went back over to my friends at the end of lunch and found out someone had dumped salad dressing on Nick's sweater (he hadn't been wearing it); everyone had assumed it was me. Nick came over ticked off, even when one if my friends told him I hadn't done it, whining, "You're going to have to pay so much for this. This sweater is real cashmere," and on and on. Finally he said we're even now, which I disagreed about because I still hadn't gotten him back since I didn't do it. He screeched, "WHAT!?" Okay, fine, we're even I told him, figuring it'd get him off my back and he wouldn't expect anything later. "Pinky swear?" he asked, which I replied, "No," to, then walked off. That was went I ran into my brother Matt, who, it turns out, was acutally the one who'd dumped salad dressing on Nick's sweater, along with one of his friends, to get him back for me. I was thrilled cuz hey, that asshole deserved it.
10/2/99
Hey, hey, hey! I'm on one of those sugar-high hyperness dealies again (not too unusual), so I figured I'd kick my brother off the computer and update here. Been having some fun lately, went to the football game at my school yesterday, and we kicked butt! JV won 14-13 and Varsity completely murdered them, I foget the score for that. Was yacking with my friend the whole time and kinda forgot to pay attention to most of the game. Oh well, still had fun.
Yesterday we had a fire drill about ten minutes into chemistry; they did this whole new evacuation thing where everyone ended up in the stadium. It took about 45 minutes which left a half hour of chem. Yes! What a dream come true! By the way, I hate that class if you didn't notice, dread it every other day. I'm sure you can tell how heartbroken I was to be spared most of it.
Man, I was riding my bike around yesterday and was going across this cross-walk that connected to a side street when the car stopped at the stop sign there started pulling into the street. I was like, "Oh shit!" and swerved some, but fortunately the moron finally looked where he was going and slammed the brakes before he hit me. The jerk honked, and I believe he flipped me off as well, but if I remember correctly, pedestrians always have the right-of-way, and he should've been looking where he was going, so ha! Asshole. Wow, I seem to meet a lot of those huh?
Man, I had to get up and be at the school at 8:00am today, which sucked, especially after staying up later last night cuz of the game. I needed to be there for two hours though to rehearse Wizard of Oz, even though I have the smallest part and am only in the first scene of the whole fricken play. Sorry, kinda mad at my teacher about that. I've still been having fun making my crack comments. During my scene, Dorthy was saying she's not a witch cuz witches are old and ugly to the good witch without knowing who she was talking to so I said, "You stupid girl." Everyone started cracking up, and Dorthy took this mock offended posture. In english the other day too, our teacher was saying something about backing out of your driveway into your cat, so I made a noise like an angry cat. The guy across from me was busting up and some of the other people were laughing too. Even more unusual in that class cuz I normally don't talk much in there.
During lunch yesterday I went with my friend to get her soda. One of the inside soda machines ate her money, so I gave her some more change, and she tried the other inside machine. It also ate the money, so I kicked it hard, and we turned to walk away while a few guys at a nearby table were watching cuz they'd heard the bang from me kicking it. I told them it wasn't me, but just then I heard the sound of change falling. "Hey it worked! It gave the money back!" I yelled. The guys started telling their friends what had happened, then suggested kicking it again to see if more money came out. I did, but it didn't work, so we left. By then everyone at the table nearby was watching us; I told them it was our money and I wasn't robbing the soda machines or anything. My friend did finally get her soda from a machine outside, after feeding it tons of dimes and stuff cuz some of the quarters kept falling through. And thus ends the tale of the soda machines from hell.
9/25/99
Wow, been kinda a while since I updated, just been to tired and brain-dead lately. Okay, now I'm attempting to update this while watching tv; thinking this isn't going to work well. Wednesday I was having fun at school making crack comments in three out of four of my classes that people actually heard. In theater we were watching the other cast block Wizard of Oz. Dorothy was yelling at the lion for trying to bite Toto, the lion said he wasn't, and Toto replied, "Yeah he was!" so I was like, "Shh, quiet Toto," like I didn't want him telling. I'd said it quietly and hadn't thought anyone would hear, but then the people near me started laughing and my teacher hissed, "Shh!" I had fun doing that type of stuff all day.
Thursday I discovered a group of jerks in my electronics class. I guess my bro Matt got one mad last time cuz the guy threatened to beat him up after school. The guy's idea of beating him up was bumping into him on their way out of class, though the guy was pretty, um, "big". He told Matt to stop talking shit, to which Matt replied, "F*** you!" Anyway, Thursday there weren't any of the modules we were working in left, so the teacher said to borrow a theory manual from someone not using theirs. Someone had said they had one over near that guy, so later when we needed one, I went over there and asked if anyone had one we could borrow. The guys in that group started to reply negatively, but then one said, "No comment," so they all started repeatedly saying that. Lame, lame, lame. Assholes.
We got an extended lunch yesterday for "Club Rush." All the clubs had tables set up around the bottom of our ampitheater (where most people eat lunch) and were trying to recruit people. I had no intention whatsoever of joining any, but did enjoy planning ways I could torment them, like walking up to the earth club table, throwing garbage at them or something and telling them I kill whales and trees for a living. I didn't actually do that, don't worry, though I did think it'd be fun.
I've been pretty tired today and just basically out of it. Too much schoolwork, bikeriding, etc, and not enough sleep. I've picked up riding my bike again; gets me out of the house away from my bros where there are acutally other people and kills any pent-up energy. Plus it keeps me in somewhat better shape for track, since I haven't been running for quite a while. My best friend being in a boot camp in Texas gives me even more free time. She's written me two letters so far, and she's surviving okay there. Knew she would though, she's tough. Well, guess that's all for now, spacing out too much to write anymore.
9/13/99
I have now proved that girls can still help kick butt at flag football even if no one (aka-the guys) ever passes the ball to them or lets them do anything! It was pretty cool; I was even really hot and exhausted from the running we'd done before it. I managed to pull off one guy's flags (almost got another guy's but he was already past the endzone). Once when they kicked the ball over to our team it headed right for me and bounced out of my hands, so I picked it up and took off running. The other team I guess was stunned, cuz they didn't move till I'd already raced over where they were at top speed; then I had my flags pulled off. They were all commenting on how I'd covered more ground than most of the guys had. Awesome game.
9/12/99
My guestbook hasn't been working, so I added another one for now. My mom's out of the hospital; she came home Friday. We had a rally on Friday too. It was pretty fun; my group of friends had reserved a whole corner section on the bleachers for all of us. One of them had bubble stuff, so they were blowing bubbles over everyone and making people turn around. I was mocking the cheerleaders and especially the drill team, which gets gayer every year. They looked like a bunch of lesbian ballerinas in pink shirts doing their queer little dance. I'm so nice, aren't I? That's what people have been telling me lately anyway, although sarcasticly. Oh well. Anyway, us juniors came in second in the rally spirit contest that earns the classes spirit points; we would've won, but with 500-600 freshmen, bout double our class size, it's pretty much impossible to beat the noise they make cheering. When the teacher in charge was saying, "Let's hear it freshmen!" and they were cheering, I yelled out, "You guys suck!" That got people in front of me to turn around, though they were smiling cuz everyone else agreed. Still pretty fun rally.
Dude, the weather Thursday was just plain weird! It was hot out when we came outside for PE. I returned out there a half hour later, and there were storm clouds, plus some thunder, so we went inside. It rained some I guess, but by the time PE was over there were only a few random light sprinkles. It was still really warm and within five minutes or so the weather was back to normal: sunny and warm. How odd. Must be the penguins.
9/9/99
I added something to my Penguins part of the page.
Dammit, my oldest jerk-off brother just shut down my computer on me when I was updating this for no reason! He just ticks me off! Anyway, I was going to say I'm really out of it today; too much going on, too much school work, not enough sleep.... My mom's still in the hospital, had to have surgery again four days ago. My best friend left for the airforce, or more specifically boot camp, two days ago. She stopped by the school after it ended to say good-bye to all of us before leaving; pretty sad.
Well, I changed my schedule; dropped Journalism (which was really boring), and decided to take Theater 2/3 again instead. I needed a fun class dang it! My chemistry class had to be switched around too, so now I have it with one of my friends. We're doing the Wizard of Oz in theater for the elementary schools this year, sooner than we did last year. Since I wasn't there for auditions, I'm one of the munchkins. It's not a bad-sized part, but all the other munchkins got another part too and I didn't, which sucks. Oh well, I'm enjoying it, gives me a chance to just relax and have fun with my friends.
I know there was more I wanted to say, but I can't think of it; like I said I'm really out of it. Too bad; laters.
9/2/99
Today was pretty fun, even though I did some stupid things (how shocking). A bunch of us were in the cafeteria before school cuz it's been pretty cold lately, and we were all just messing around a ton, playing cards, talking, playing with the games I got on my calculator, messing with a little recording playing songs fast and high pitch so they sounded like the chipmunks or something, just basically goofing-off and having a good time.
In history yesterday, our group did a skit showing the first battles of the Revolutionary War. She said to make them interesting and creative, so we used staplers as our weapons in the place of guns since fake guns aren't allowed at school anyway. It was a lot of fun shooting eachother with staples.
Electronics has been fun to mess around in too. This annoying nerd in there actually said he thought I was a freshman, had to ask me again at the end of class to make sure I hadn't been joking when I said I was a junior, then made a comment about me being vertically challenged. I have never ever been called that before, considering I'm 5'9.5" last I checked, and I don't think I've seen any other girls at our school taller than me, just maybe the same height. Plus the idiot was only about two inches taller than me, so how the heck does he figure I'm short? Oh well, he got in trouble in there today, so ha ha. And now I'm the only girl in there too cuz the other one transferred out; unless you count my brother or some of the nerds in there as girls.
PE today we did the running part of our fitness testing, twelve minutes, see how far we run in that time, yadda yadda yadda. Then I was told halfway through the running by one of my friends that my PE shorts were on backwards. Ha ha. Too late to do anything about it though. After class, a ton of people were leaving early, so I figured what the heck and left too. After I'd gone quite a ways away, my PE teacher came out and started telling everyone to come back cuz the bell hadn't rang yet. Well, I was already so far why start going all the way back when the bell would ring any moment anyway? Other people around me had the same idea and we continued going while she tried singling out the people she recognized. She forgot my name though, yelling, "Ladies!" (I was the only girl) and "Jill!" (I'm not Jill, so I kept going) then "You know who you are!" I finally made it to the end of a building where I could turn away where she couldn't see me. Hopefully I won't get in trouble, though I doubt it considering there's still tomorrow and a three day weekend before I have that class again, so she'll probably forget. If she does say something, I'll just make up some excuse.
Man, my mom was having problems from her historectomy a month ago, and now she's in the hospital, where they can give her IV antibiotics. This is the fourth day she's been there; she was feeling better and planning on returning home, till they got some test results back. Something's still wrong, so she's still in there and may possibly need to have surgery again. So that sux.

Yesterday we had to suit up for the first time in PE. I remembered to bring my PE clothes, but sorta kinda forgot my tenis shoes. So I stood out somewhat among everyone: we were the only class suiting up, my PE clothes were my oldest brother's so no one else in my grade has them, and I was wearing sandals. We went out to the field to play flag football, and I decided to play barefoot. It was pretty fun, though hecka hot, and I had lunch right after so I couldn't cool off in a classroom. I was tired all day too from waking up about an hour early feeling sick like I'd puke. Felt better enough to go to school, but it returned every now and then, especially at lunch.
Last night I went to the Welcome Back dance at our school. It was so fun! I danced almost the entire three hours and only sat down once for about three minutes. It was held in the gym though, which was also way too hot and stuffy; everyone was sweating a ton and there was always a long line for the drinking fountain. They had some great music though, at least for the first part and some in the end; inbetween they played some gay oldies junk. Like I said though, I had tons of fun, probably cuz I love dancing like that.
I spent all this afternoon at my friend Jason's birthday party. Yet another fun thing I did. We all sat around talking and snacking for an hour or so waiting for everyone to show up, then watched a funny movie, forget what it was called though. After that we had some ice cream cake and Jason opened his presents. Then we all just sat around for a few hours, talking, listening to music, some people getting their hair brushed, and some people drawing.... I actually got pretty bored of that after it went on too long. My best friend Michelle showed up near the end for fifteen minutes or so to give her present to Jason and see everyone for a bit. After she left, about half of us were trying not to cry, remembering she'll be leaving for the airforce in little over a week, and some of them were worried they wouldn't see her again. We managed to pick the mood back up after a bit, but by then the party was pretty much over, and my dad showed up shortly after, so that was the end of it.

Man, this weather sucks! There's a ton of fires in this area, so the air's all smoky (looks like fog) and hotter too. Harder to breathe in. My brother Matt stalks me around before school and during break most of the time, though I don't even really mind cuz the friends in our group we hang out with have become too boring. They've either changed, graduated, or I just don't get to talk to them that much. We end up wandering around bored quite a bit.
The half of my classes I have on silver days (last update was blue day) suck too. They're all hecka boring academic classes. Chemistry is the worst. Spanish III is my second class, and it's probably the best of my classes today. The teacher's really funny and came up with a new grading system based on effort; you can not get A's on any major tests and still get an A in the class. History's not too bad; same teacher I had in 8th grade (she was my favorite back then), the one friend I always hang out with at school is in there, plus a guy I talk to sometimes, but unfortunately so's this annoying friend of my oldest brother's that I can't stand. English would be cool, but there's no one in there I talk to, so it's boring.
Electronics was fun yesterday; we played this stupid game in little groups, and my brother Matt was making some dumb comments that the teacher heard, which was also funny. The last ten minutes we had free time though, he was talking to these nerds, and I mean that in the strongest meaning of the word, about Macs (his obsession) and other computer stuff. I was bored enough that I resorted to playing on with my chair; it had wheels on it, so I was using it to slide around. Who cares that I'm a junior, it was amusing and I was bored! Then I talked to this guy in there I know who was pretending to shoot me with an imaginary gun. See, I'm not the only junior who does stupid things! Oh well, whatever entertains you.

Today was our first day back at school. Unfortunately, my gums were really sore so I didn't get much sleep last night, and my cheek was all puffy today. But I was feeling better and the medicine I took made it so my gums weren't hurting at all. School was pretty cool, getting to see everyone again. Lunch was hecka boring though without my best friend and our other friends that graduated, plus we didn't all have the same lunch.
My first class was Journalism. That went pretty well; during the last part we had to interview partners that were randomly chosen for us, and I was actually talking quite a bit with mine. Math was boring, as usual, even though there were quite a few people I talk to in there, cuz we had a seating chart where I wasn't near them and couldn't talk to them, plus we actually did work. I managed to finish the assignment and homework ten minutes early though, so I don't have to worry about it for at home.
There were a bunch of people I know that had the same PE period as me, including a girl I know in my class (which gives me someone to talk to) and my brother Mike in a different class at the same time. We didn't do much of anything in there, just talked while the teacher was telling us a bunch of stuff we already knew, though she didn't even notice or care. Electronics wasn't bad either; it was pretty fun joking around with my brother Matt. She was lecturing for a long time, while we whispered comments to eachother every now and then. I was mentally dementing some of the stuff she said (like how you could get plenty of experience interning), looked at Matt, and realized he was thinking the same thing. We had to look away from eachother so we wouldn't laugh out loud. All in all, pretty cool day.

Friday my mom gave me $100 (the amount we saved when I decided not to be put to sleep when they pulled out my wisdom teeth) to go clothes shopping with my friend Michelle. That was cool, even though I had to get up early. I found all the clothes I needed to get (mainly pants and shorts), and some others, plus got a cd with the $20 my grandma gave me for my birthday. Then we returned to my house to hang-out and play pool till she had to go to work.
Last night was Michelle's birthday/graduation/going away party. It was hecka fun! Except for the hour or so that I felt really sick to my stomach, my face was hot, and I wanted to puke. Her mom gave me some medicine, and fortunately it passed without me throwing-up or having to go home early. It was fun though; we were all talking a ton, messing around on the huge trampoline, playing N64 games, poking at the Furbie she got, listening to music, just having a blast.
Today is really sucking. I went to bed at 11:30 last night, couldn't fall asleep till about a half hour later, woke up at 4:00am from some bad dreams, then couldn't quite fall asleep again after that except for maybe one or two hours, then was woken again at 8:00 for church. My mom thinks I have a slight temperature, I've been really tired, and my gums where one of my teeth were pulled are now really sore and swollen again, which means I might have an infection. To top it off, tomorrow's the first day of school, which I'd actually be glad about if I weren't feeling so lousy and worried about if I'll feel too sick tomorrow morning; would suck to miss the first day back. Real fun huh?

I added a story I wrote for school last year to my site called Rain of Ashes.
Yesterday was my 16th birthday! Yeah baby! Some of my friends came over, and we had a blast! Played Risk (where you take over the world), had a stuffed animal fight, ate pizza, opened presents (which were very cool and creative), went to my grandparents to swim and have cake, then came back to my house, where we watched I Still Know What You Did Last Summer (which really sucked, by the way), and basically messed around a ton and had a great time. Today we went to get some school supplies, and my mom also got me a new thing to hold my cd's cuz they wouldn't all fit in the one I had. Let's see...Can't really think of anything else to add, probably partially cuz I'm watching a movie while writing this (The Frighteners), so that's all for now. Laters!
8/14/99
The night before last there was a meteor shower between about 1-3:00am, so me and one of my brothers stayed up til about 2:30 to see it. My parents got up then too; we all stood outside for awhile looking up at the stars. Our necks were pretty sore after that; think I saw about ten of the shooting stars. It was pretty cool though.
Man, I barely got any sleep at all last night, or feels like it anyway. Went to bed at 1am, got woken bout five times by my parents at who knows when so I couldn't quite get back to sleep, then had to get up at 8:30 or so to go sailing with my parents and one of my brothers. It was freezing out there! I mean, the water was actually pretty warm, but when you keep getting drenched in it and there wind is freezing cold, it feels like you're turning into an ice cube. Bet it was the penguins causing the breeze; they're the ones who like it that cold. Anyway, me and my mom decided to walk around the lake for a bit to warm up while my dad and bro sailed on their own for a bit. My dad discovered a little part for the boat was missing (a piece that keeps the top of the jib from flapping around), so I went with him back home to look for another one, and decided to stay home. My other brothers (excluding the oldest) decided to go instead, so for about the second time this summer I was home alone, except the half hour my other brother came home before going to work. I think that was the longest I've ever been home by myself, and I enjoyed every moment of it, playing my music really loud, singing along with it, watching videos my brothers hate, messing with pix on our scanner that I wouldn't want my brothers to see... It was great! Would probably get sick of it if it happened more often, but it doesn't, so it's fun.
8/11/99
Added pix to my About Me page.
Woo-hoo! I finally found a program I could use to convert scanned pics to JPEGs, so now there are actually pictures of me on my page!
Okay, I got this thing in the mail that said I'd won a free camera in some drawing, which was cool. Except that to get the camera, I either had to pick it up in Texas or send $6.00 to have it sent to me for the shipping and handling. Kinda defeats the purpose of a free camera, especially when I already have one anyway that's fairly new and sounds better than the one I won anyway. At least it has a flash. Seems like there's no way to win with those drawings...
I've been over at my friend Michelle's today and yesterday, which was fun. Yesterday though, we went to go running with our friend Jason and got about a mile away from his house before she tripped on the uneven sidewalk and fell. We sat there till it stopped hurting, then had to walk back to Jason's. It was still cool getting to see both of them.
I had to go back to the oral surgeon's today so he could make sure my mouth was healing where the teeth were pulled. We waited an hour for a minute long check-up, which sucked. The surgeon was still in surgery cuz he showed up late, and three of us in the waiting room had appointments at the same time, which was just stupid of them. Anyway, after that I got to go to Michelle's again; we walked to some nearby stores, discovered the Albertsons where my dad works at was across the street from there, and dropped in on him. He gave us candy, money for more candy, sodas, and a ride back. But first we found the car my oldest brother (who also works there) was using and moved the mirrors around. Not hard when he never locks the doors. See, a while ago he messed with the mirrors in Michelle's car when she was over, then laughed about it for a long time (moron, I know), so we figured we'd get him back for that. Some added amusement anyway.

Added another link.
I got up at eight this morning to get my schedule changed (weights to team sports), arrived at the school at 8:30, and had to wait for an hour with about 20 people in front of me in line to change that one class, which took less than two minutes. Ugh. I knew some of the other people waiting anyway, so I did have people to talk to. They ended up moving my Electronics and Chemistry class along with PE, so now my schedule goes like this: Journalism I, Chemistry I, CPM III, Spanish III, Team Sports, US History, Electronics, and Honors English III. What's gonna be strange is I have Electronics with my younger brother Matt, who'll be a freshman. Should be interesting anyway, since he always goofs-off and torments his teachers. I think I also have PE the same time as my brother Mike (just a different class). See, what's strange about this is schools always purposely make sure us siblings are never in the same class, but they didn't bother checking that when they changed it. Will be an interesting year.

I added a new link.
Well, I got my schedule for this next school year today. My mouth's all swollen up so it looks like someone with golfballs in their mouth, or, worse yet, my fat little brother. I didn't really care to go to the school that way, but it was okay. Right after we got in line one of my friends showed up behind us, so I got to talk to her. Here's my classes in order: Journalism I (I like writing okay?), Athletic weight training, CPM III (math), Spanish III, Electronics, US History, Chemistry I, and Honors English III. I didn't want Weights though, I wanted Team Sports, for the simple reason that I like sports, especially the ones they play in that, but I think Weights would be boring. Besides, we have plenty of weights at home. I get the feeling my track coaches had something to do with that switch, but I'm gonna try to fix it Monday. I've either had or know of all but one of my teachers, and they're all cool. This year should be okay class-wise, but it'll be pretty sad with the guy I like gone and my best friend leaving for the Air Force Sept 7. Well, I'll survive.

This morning I got the joy and pleasure of having all four of my wisdom teeth pulled out. They gave me two Valium pills that were supposed to relax me and make me very sleepy, but I stayed wide awake once my sleepiness from getting up at 7:30 wore off in the waiting room. The only thing that hurt was when they were numbing my teeth; 3-4 shots on each side of my mouth and man did that ever sting! But after that I didn't feel much of anything and couldn't even tell when they'd pulled my teeth out. Afterwards though, it bled for about two hours, despite the gauze they had me put in and bite down on. Then once the numbness wore off, my mouth got hecka sore (still is), even with the painkillers they gave me, which mostly are just making me sleepy. However, it was fun grossing out my brothers by showing them my teeth, two of which were broken in half and bloody. The most annoying thing about this is I have to take it easy, when I love going out and doing stuff. Plus my diet now consists of mushy food that doesn't need chewing, like yogurt, pudding, shakes (mmm...), soup, etc. Oh well, I'm used to most of this stuff from all the previous dental work I've had for the past few years.
8/1/99
Man, I want outta here! Not the looney bin, but the closest thing to it: my house. I'm sick of being stuck inside most of the time because no one wants to go anywhere (my brothers are all lazy), sick to death of being bored, and sick of the fighting. Like today before church when my oldest brother Joe and my mom got in a big fight that resulted in Joe stopping the car around the corner from our house, walking back, and taking another vehicle to church on his own cuz he didn't want to go with her. My mom yelled at him to start looking for his own place. Great way to start our going in to church huh? Anyway, stuff like that happens frequently around here, and I'm sick of it. That's a big reason why I liked school and track; it kept my away from home a lot so I had to deal with my family a lot less. Still another three weeks to survive before summer's finally over. At least my birthday's coming up soon too.
7/30/99
I've had fun the past few days. My friend Michelle was off Tuesday/Wednesday, so we decided to go shopping. We were going to take some friends of ours, but none of the ones we called were home, so we just went ourselves. Tuesday we went to a few places in Roseville like Target, Carls Jr. (for lunch), etc. Then we went back to my house and played basketball at a nearby park. Wednesday my mom gave me $20 to spend, and we went to the Sunrise Mall, then Mac Donalds. We had fun going in a lot of the stores; I got two shirts and Michelle got a cd single. I've also been getting to go running some; I hadn't for about two weeks cuz my dad hurt his leg and doesn't want me running alone. Typical.
7/26/99
Well, things have been happening in my life, even though I still haven't had much to do. My mom had surgery a week ago, a historectomy, which means they took out her uterus. Okay, so maybe you didn't want to know that, but too bad. She left the hospital the next evening and is almost back to normal. I haven't seen my friends for a while, mainly because the only one that can drive has been working a lot, though she's off the next two days. Wish I had a job to keep me busy.
Today I spent with three of my younger cousins that I barely get to see, two guys and another girl, I think all a bit over ten. It was fun though since they're some of my only cousins that aren't spoiled rotten and are actually down to earth (not that I always am). We went to Sunsplash, which is a water park with slides and stuff, plus miniature golf, swam there and went on slides for a while, then went to the nearby In-N-Out Burger for lunch. The place was packed with no free tables, so we ordered our food to go and ended up eating at the only place we could sit nearby: an empty bus stop. That was interesting anyway. After eating we went back inside Sunsplash to play their arcades and token games for a while before starting to walk back to our grandma's, though their parents picked us up after we'd only walked a bit. So it was generally a fun day.
7/17/99
It's exactly one month till my birthday. Woo-hoo!
Wow, been a bit since I updated. I've been hanging out with friends quite a bit; we went and saw the movie of South Park yesterday. It was hecka funny, but if you don't like movies with no moral and bad language, you probably shouldn't see it. We also went to visit them at summer school before that ended. I saw the guy I like there too, who I mentioned earlier in here, but realized he thinks I like his friend, so he wouldn't even look at me, even though when he drives by me running, he whirls his head around to look back at me. I wish I could talk to him.
I spent today with my family; we went out to Folsom Lake with our boats: a paddle boat, a little tin can type row boat with a motor, and our sailboat, a Hobie Cat. Man, we were landing on a beach area in the paddle boat where the sand was really shallow, then abruptly dropped down deeper, and I took a step off the boat, but the sand there sucked my foot down like quicksand, so I lost my balance, my other foot flew out of the boat, and I fell back into the water. The back of my ankle got scraped, but I came up laughing anyway; I'm used to hurting myself. The trip was still pretty fun though, much better than being stuck inside, even though we all got fried. Hey, ya gotta have fun with your life!
7/5/99
Well, yesterday was, obviously, our Independence Day. Me and my family went to the Placer County Fair, where we went on a ton of rides, then went and saw a hypnotist show, where this lady supposedly hypnotised about ten people she chose from the audience. I doubt they were actually hypnotised; they were probably just playing along. It was still funny to watch. We went on more rides, till this show let out and the place got way too crowded. So then we went to watch the fireworks display at Cal Expo from the Arden Fair Mall parking lot. It was awesome; the fireworks lasted about twenty minutes, and there were some really good ones, like this type that made a heart shape. After that we went back home to set off some of our own fireworks that we'd bought. A pretty fun day all in all, much better than the usual annual get together with our irritating cousins at our grandparents.
Today was a completely different story. I've been doing a lot of cleaning in my room lately; today I took on the amazing task of cleaning out my closet. Trust me, it wasn't an easy job, it took a few hours (listening to the radio the entire time). In the middle of cleaning it, my floor was almost entirely covered in piles of junk, and afterwards I had a garbage bag, plastic grocery bag, and medium sized box all full of junk to throw away. But at least my closet looks a lot better. Closes easier too. I can't believe I just used all that space just writing about cleaning my closet.
7/2/99
My summer's been picking up some, along with my mood. The other day me and Michelle went down to the school to see some of our friends that are in summer school. Going to school when we're bored. How sad can you get? Though it was actually fun since we got to talk to people and hang out for a while without having to go to classes and do the work school normally involves. I also saw some people I hadn't expected to see there, so that was cool.
Yesterday I went to Waterworld (an amusement park with water slides and stuff) with most of my family and one of my brothers' friends. Unfortunately, none of my friends could come so I was either by myself or with my youngest brother and sometimes my mom, who didn't quite get the point that I didn't really want to hang out with them. It was still pretty fun; I went on most of the slides (more than once), and the last time I went on one before leaving, these two guys in line in front of me invited me to ride three person with them, so I did. Not a bad day at all.
6/27/99
Well, I've been *gasp* finding things to do to get out of this house. My friend Michelle came over Friday, we hung out, walked to a few stores nearby, annoyed my brothers, went to Juice Etc to get some smothies in the evening, then checked out some cds and stuff in anther store before dropping her off back at home. Then she came over again yesterday to spend the night too. We went to the Rocklin Jubilee, this kinda festival to celebrate the 4th of July with a bunch of booths, live bands, rock-climbing wall, food, people, etc. Some of our friends and people we knew were there, so we got to talk to them, and that was fun. When night fell we went back there with most of my family to watch them set off some fireworks. I was very hyper the entire time we went for the fireworks, even when we were walking there and back. Seeing me with a flashlight can be a terrifying experience. After the firworks while it was still dark in the park, me and Michelle started using them as lightsabers, getting some weird looks from the people near us, but who cares cuz we were having fun! I haven't been in a really weird mood like that since before school let out.
6/24/99
Well, I added some more graphics and stuff to my main page, updated my thoughts section, and made a section for some webrings I just randomly felt like joining. Other than that, I still have no life, so that's all for now.
6/19/99
Nothing new's happened; just wanted to say I added a few more pics to my thoughts page, one to The Truth About Mulder and Scully, and a few to Island of the Penguins, which, by the way, I will finish, I just haven't been in a very creative mood lately.
6/18/99
I got the pictures of Pinky and the Brain to work on my thoughts page.
Hey, it's exactly a day less than two months until my sixteenth birthday! And man is it boring over here! Today's my mom's birthday, so her and my dad went out for lunch, came back before going to the movies to see The Matrix, and decided to take my two younger brothers Matt and Paul with them. Mike's at summer school, and me and Joe have already seen that movie, so we were left here. He's sleeping now on the couch after staying up all night with his friends, then working at three in the morning. Between him and my dog's deep breathing, I'm getting pretty sleepy. Hey, good way to hypnotize someone! Leave them bored in a house where the only other living things are sleeping and they can hear them. Dang, I wish Joe would've left! Then I'd have the house to myself, which is an exteremly rare occurence, happens once or twice a year. But now I can't even turn up my music loud or anything cuz if I wake up the oh so evil Joe I'm fish food. Course, they always wake me up. I stayed up till one or two the other night, was woken up by my mom sticking the cat in my room around seven, had to get up and let the cat out when it started meowing, was woken up again by Joe playing the piano for a solid ten minutes, had my brother Matt come in to get his clothes (which take up half my closet since there's four of them in their room and not enough space), which woke me up yet again, then was rewoken a final time by Joe playing the piano some more. Fun huh? La la la la.... Did I mention I'm bored?
6/10/99
School's only been over for a week, and I'm already going insane with boredom and my annoying brothers. We had another of our oh so mature fights the other day. My oldest brother, Joe, didn't want me on the phone, so he unplugged it while I was trying to tell Michelle something. Then he got mad cuz I refused his demands to return the phone, locking my bedroom door and turning up one of my cds instead to annoy him. So Joe got his boom box, put it by my door, and played some heavy metal loudly. Not that it mattered since I could still hear my music perfectly well. When I continued to refuse to give him the phone, he pulled the fan off my window and tryed climbing in through the closed blinds, snapping one of them, while I quickly got out of there with the phone, finally hanging it up like he'd wanted me to do. My brother Paul insulted me, not realizing I was right there, so I turned off his game. That ticked him off; he started trying to kick me and slap me, while I easily warded him off. Then he headed in the direction of my room, where Joe was attempting to repair the damage to my blinds and replace the fan & screen. I knew what Paul was planning (he always does the same thing), so I took the N64 game he'd been playing and hid it before going down the hall and seeing him hiding the cord to my cd player in his dresser drawer like he always does when he's mad at me. I retrieved the cord, heard Joe demand that I return the game (Zelda), stepped outside to take care of my rabbits, pretending I hadn't heard him, and was locked out, informed I wouldn't be let back in until I revealed the whereabouts of Zelda. I'm not one to give in to my brothers' demands, so I walked around barefoot for about a half hour while I was locked out, till I returned a second time and discovered the doors unlocked and Joe in the shower. I never did return the game for about another hour or two when my mom told me to and Michelle (who I was back on the phone with) told me to just give it back. That was finally the end of our fight.
So, you can see how fun life with my brothers over the summer will be. My mom's not much help either; all she does is constantly critisize everything I do. For example, when I first told her I wanted to run on track, her response was, "Well, are you any good at it? Cuz they don't want someone who sucks." Nice vote of confidence. She doesn't even know anything that goes in my life outside the house; she never asks, just spends all her time talking about her stupid fish that she's obsessed with. Sorry if I keep complaining; it's just irritating bein cooped up here.
6/6/99
Well, school's out for another boring summer. I spent my last week, consisting of three days of school with three classes each day (one of each class plus advisory), playing cards, talking to friends, getting a few last people to sign my yearbook (including a guy I really wanted to sign it, who was refusing to sign practically everyone's yearbook except mine), watching movies, etc. The party in theater was really fun; plenty of junk food, thank you letters from kids who saw our play, then music that everyone was dancing to. Definitely my most fun class the last week.
Friday night, the day after school got out, I went to the senior graduation at our school to watch some of my friends graduate. It actually wasn't that bad. The funny thing was I went to my brother Joe's graduation and he didn't cuz he didn't have the grades to walk and has to make up work over the summer to get his diploma. Afterwards, me and Michelle went to see the new Star Wars movie in the theaters, then stayed the night at her house, talking till two in the morning and spending the next day generally being lazy.
Then I got back home. Big difference: lots of boredom, no one to really talk to, and my mom picking on me constantly, critizising me, and trying to annoy me. I spent most of today in my room, except when I went out running and was in the living room messing with our new scanner. As soon as I get more time, I'll put some pictures up on here.
5/30/99
So, right now we've got a three day weekend, then three days of school, then it'll be summer and I will become a junior. We only go to each of our classes one more time for finals, which means longer classes but minumum days. I don't even have any finals left to take, and we're only having a party in theater and PE, so my classes are bound to be pretty boring. This is also going to be a sad week for me; a lot of the seniors I know (including my best friend) will be graduating (though that's a good thing with two of the seniors, one of which is my oldest brother), someone else in my grade who's an important person in my life will be going to another school next year, and my summer will be so dang boring! I can't even get my lisence till August when I turn sixteen. At least we don't have anymore homework.
Last Wednesday we had our track awards banquet. My dad was going to go with us, according to my mom, but he didn't know about it and ended up dropping me and my brother Mike off. It was a lot of fun getting together with everyone on track again. We all got certificates and our letters. Plus I actually got an award: most improved JV distance girl. That was cool; my coach even gave a little speech about me before awarding me the plaque. I knew I'd win that one hands-down; I used to really suck, now I just suck. ;) I'll get better though after actually getting some pre-season training.
We had our end of the year rally last week. It was pretty sad; all the seniors were wearing their graduation gowns and saying good-byes. A cool thing though was that our class won the yearly spirit competition, so we get a barbeque. Other than that, not much has been happening. I've still been doing some running with my dad and brother Mike; gotta keep in shape for cross country in the fall. Three mile races. Yeah, that'll be real fun. As long as I survive it.
5/24/99
I've had a busy week, even with track being over. With the end of the year comes lots of outcomes, finals, and major projects, most of which I ended up doing the night before. We had two minumum/corrective days last week, meaning there were three 45 minute blocks to make-up work, then we got to leave at 10:40am. The first day I went to Michelle's sister's place, which is where she stays after school. We walked down to K-mart and got a new cd, then listened to that, watched MTV, and did a few other things. The day after that (Thursday), my friends Michelle, Emily, and Becky came over. Emily was entertaining on the bus; she sat next to this guy Mike and proceeded to annoy him, immediately asking if he wanted to hear a corny joke: A farmer grew some corn, then trying to get him to be her friend, though he kept refusing. At my house we played some pool while listening to my new cd, a few games of Risk (the goal of which is to take over the world; my kind of game), ate a ton of junk food, and walked down to the car show by Jaspers, where we got some fries. Then everyone had to leave so I could type up a short story for my historical fiction project in English that was due the next day.
Friday evening I went to a pool party at our school with some of my friends. We got our yearbooks, looked at/signed those till they let us out to the pool, where we swam, dived, tossed around a football & frisbee, had splashing fights, and started a game of volleyball in the pool. Once we were sick of the water, we grabbed some grub, signed/looked at yearbooks some more, then spent the rest of the night dancing in a mob to all fast songs by the pool while beach balls were being tossed around. During this Jamaican song there was even a conga-line going, and there was a guy dancing on a diving board wearing children's intertubes with an orange cone on his head. All in all, the pool party was a blast!
During PE today we were playing volleyball, and suddenly two of the guys on my team started fist-fighting with eachother. At first no one was sure if they were seriously fighting or messing around, then realized it was serious and pulled them apart. Our teacher was so stupid; he sat there with his back to the fight the entire time, completely oblivious to what was going on. As for me, I got hit in the face by the ball again, but that happens practically every time I have that class. What can I say? I'm always getting hurt.

Well, the track season's over for me; we had our last meet yesterday. There's still the sub sections, but you have to be exteremly good to qualify for that. Wednesday I was supposed to run the 800, then only run it again Friday if I qualified, but they decided to only have one heat and make the rest of us automatically qualify. That kinda sucked cuz I was already running the mile Friday. I didn't do too bad; one girl was way behind me the entire mile, and I got my best time on the 800, coming through the finish practically alongside a girl I would've beaten if I'd started my kick sooner. It also didn't help that I left my spikes at home. I was happy with how I did anyway.
In theater we've started performing Sleeping Beauty for the elementary school kids. There's two casts and unfortunately our cast sucks, though the other one is really good. Last time we performed, everyone was missing lines left and right, they called me nursemaid and the nursemaid seamstress, the fairies were in the back hall and completely missed one of their scenes, and we forgot to change the witch into a frog, so she got away. Our drama teacher wasn't happy. My favorite scene is this one where the prince is fighting Darth Vader (did I mention this is our own version of the play?) and there's some music playing. They go at it for a while, stop to lean on their swords panting, then fight some more. After they've done that a few times during one of their rests, they start bobbing their heads to the music, then all out dance/disco, forgetting about fighting, till the prince accidently stabs Darth with his sword. The kids love it.

My week hasn't been that great. After that meet Saturday, I got really sick, especially on Monday. Headache, really bad cough, runny nose, slight temperature, the works. I didn't miss any school though. Fortunately it's been getting better and better. I returned to track practice yesterday after missing the three previous days and felt about a million times worse. Probably not a good idea to eat a bunch of cookies and Mountain Dew at our Spanish party right before going to run four miles. Today was fun; we got water balloons for a fight, then instead of attacking eachother we chased down our coach. Heh heh heh....
Here's something interesting. In English my class was in the library researching a historical event with my brother Mike's class. I asked him what event he was doing, and it turned out to be the same as mine, picked out the same day during the same class at the same time. Maybe we're just psychic.
PE yesterday sucked; I got ticked off at our teacher. We were doing push-ups for our physical fitness testing where we had partners who put their hands by our elbows and we had to touch them every time we went down. I only had to do 12 to pass, but I kept going and did 30. The teacher told me to stop, I'd done the last three wrong and hadn't touched my partner's hands. We told him I didn't on the last one, but I did the other two. They argued about it for a while. He said he'd been watching me (which seems to be something he always does) and saw everything. Yeah, well, right as he was saying that I was flipping him off, and he didn't even notice. Finally he just blew up at my partner, yelling so loud the entire class shut-up and listened as he went on and on about what I'd been doing wrong with my push-ups and chewing out my partner for arguing with him. Needless to say, I was completely embarressed. Then I found out he decided both me and my partner had to redo the test. WHAT THE HECK??? All I had to do was 12, but no. I go ahead and do 18 more so I get yelled at and have to redo them when I could've stopped after 12 and be fine. Is that fair? No way! What a jerk.

Wow, it's hard to believe it's already May. Only 22 days left of school, then I'll never see some people again. Depressing thought.
We had another track meet yesterday. A lot of people, including some of the best ones, were missing, but our Varsity guys still won first place. Unfortunately, I was the only distance girl there on our team, so I didn't have anyone I know to run with. I got my best mile time so far, but came close to collapsing and puking before the race was over. There were only two events between that and my next race, so I didn't have much time to recover before I had to warm-up again for the half mile.
This one guy on JV distance, Travis, has this little stuffed puppy he uses as a good luck charm. He'd left it in the care of a girl while he went to warm-up. Another guy took it, found a rope, tied a noose around the dog's neck, then hung it from the bars at the top of our shade cover. I had to go warm-up for my race and saw Travis, so I asked him if he'd seen his dog. He got this panicked look on his face and started asking, "What happened? What'd they do to it? Where is he?" I pointed to the shade cover, replying, "It's right over there." Then he saw it hanging there. The horrified look on his face was priceless; he ran over there, yelling,"Nooo!" carefully freeing his dog while everyone had a good laugh. The people on track are so much fun.

Dang, it's become a lot hotter lately! Just in time for our spirit week. Unfortunately, it made running track a lot worse. We still kicked butt in our league meet Wednesday. If you didn't know, the league meets are the ones that really count and give points to your school. We were only racing two other teams and just stole all the points from them. I did badly on the mile, though I still beat this other girl, but I did pretty well on my 800 (1/2 mile).
Back to the spirit week at our school. We got hour long lunches, had dress up days, a Sadie's dance, and a rally. The theme was "Battle of the Sexes", so yesterday (Friday), my friend Jason decided to use that as an excuse to come to school dressed as his favorite female singer, Cher, with female clothing, make-up, a wig, the works. It was pretty frightening, especially since he naturally looks and acts feminine. I teased him all day, telling him it was "battle of the sexes", not "change your sex". But that's just Jason.

Wow, I didn't realize how long it's been since I updated. First of all, my Easter went okay; we just went to our grandparents' (which is normally pretty boring). My mom volunteered me for an egg hunt they were doing so I got to feel like a dork, especially with the dress she was making me wear, but hey, there was money in the eggs, so why not? I ended up making $3.51 just for finding some cheap plastic eggs.
Track's been keeping me busy lately. We had another meet on Saturday, and once again I set a new record for myself running the 400. We have two more meets this week on Wednesday and Saturday, so I'll still be pretty busy.
My classes actually were kinda funny Friday. We had to get partners in Biology to "make babies" with (not real ones obviously), and all the couples in our class were gay/lesbian.
In math me and my friend Darrell were goofing off (as always), but this time a guy in his group who's normally quieter was in a weird mood. They were scaring the other guy in their group and stated that, "Since two out of three of us are weird, that makes being weird normal, so you're actually the abnormal one." Then they attempted to give him lessons in looking like an idiot. It was interesting to watch.
Health class we watched a video of someone's presentation about how oil spills affect sea creatures. They had a black cat wrapped in a blanket with its ears held back as an oil-covered baby sea otter. Then the ears and tail came untucked as the cat struggled and meowed. We have meowing sea otters at home too, only we call them cats.
Later in that class, this girl walked up to a poster on the wall from another presentation asking, "Are these marshmellow bunnies?" She tried pulling one off, but it was glued on, so instead she just took a bite of it off the poster. Then she spit it out, saying it tasted like Windex. One person asked how she knew what Windex tastes like (I'm not sure I want to know), and another suggested maybe glue got on it, so the girl started examining the other marshmellows to see if they had glue on them too. Some people....
Friday night me and three of my brothers went with our grandpa, who was teaching a lifegaurd safety class for Red Cross. We had fake injuries put on us (rubber wounds with fake blood), then the class had to practice what they'd do if it was real. I got this huge gash on my forehead and said it was from diving into the pool when there was no water in it. Hey, water's as clear as the air; it might've just been really clean. So that was fun with the bonus of getting community service hours from doing that.

Spring Break's been as boring as I thought so far. Today my brother Matt was messing around with my other brothers and their friend and sprayed some pepper spray in the house. I was in my room and heard them all yelling about how it was burning their throughts. They gathered some fans which aired out the house by the time I left my room to watch Waterboy with them. Then my oldest brother Joe returned home with two of his friends, heard about what had happened, then went to "make sure the safety was turned on" on the pepper spray and ended up spraying more in the house. They hadn't been kidding earlier; the stuff was horrible. It spread quickly, burning throughts and making everyone cough until we all went outside. Sometimes my brothers' stupidity just amazes me.

I added a thought to my page.
Well, my fever got so bad yesterday I had to miss school, which was kinda disappointing cuz it was my last chance to see everyone before Spring Break. I felt better today though and went to see a few hours of our track meet, long enough to play some poker, talk to friends, and see my brother Mike race. Surprisingly, we actually placed in some of our races and stuff.
Ya know, it's hard to believe there are only 43 days left of school. I'm not really looking forward to it; quite a few people I know won't be coming back next year, including my best friend Michelle. What also sucks is that they decided to make our school start a week earlier than usual on August 16. So for the first time in my life, I'll have to go to school on my birthday. I can't even stay home cuz it's on the second day of it. Dang! Just in time for my sixteenth birthday too.

I've been sick since Monday, and it sucks. Fortunately, tomorrow's the last day of school before Spring Break. Wednesday we had correctives (three blocks to make-up work, short classes, and a combined lunch) and tomorrow we have all our classes, so they're only 35 minutes long. I just sat around playing cards with my friends during correctives since I didn't have any work to make-up. Too bad Saturday's our invitational track meet at home, the first one my friend Becky's going to, and the first one my mom and possibly my dad are going to too, and I'll probably be too sick to run. I have a really bad cough and headache, a sore throught, runny nose, and a slight fever. Sounds fun huh?

We had our second track meet yesterday at Placer. It was pretty bad; I'm pretty sure we only placed in one event and it was 3rd in either long jump or a throwing event. The only thing I ran was a 400 in the distance medley, which is a relay. I went second, started out behind, and everyone who'd been behind me passed me. Not a good thing. Okay, so I'm not a fast runner, but this is my first season and that was the best 400 I've ever run, so I didn't really care. We ended up coming in second to last; the last girl was almost a lap behind us. I was supposed to run the open two mile too, but I've got shin splints, which is not a fun thing. We all sat around playing card games, sometimes poker with the chips I brought, and basically talking and being bored while cheering for everyone running. If you want to see some pics from the meet, go to: http://hslsports.com/placer_relays.htm I'm only in the background of one pic with my head turned, standing next to two girls who look terrified before our race. My brother Mike's in three of them though, including that one. We have our invitational at home next Saturday.
We played football during track practice Friday, and it really sucked. No one ever threw me the ball. There was some rule about passing it to a girl on the team, but they just threw it to the other girl, who caught it one of the five times. Come on! Believe it or not, I can catch a stupid ball. Maybe not a smart one, but I've never had to deal with one of those.
On Friday me and some friends went to Comedy Improv Night at our school. Students in Comedy Troop played improv games on stage, and it was hecka funny. Beforehand they had people in the audience write down personalities and places for them to use in the games. The very first personality they used was "someone who believes they're being stalked by penguins." Everyone started laughing when they read my suggestion out loud. This guy did a fantastic job of acting that out too; I couldn't have done it better myself. Great way to spend an evening.
