James Cameron's Cameos In Titanic

Below I have listed areas in the movie Titanic where I believe I have seen James Cameron in brief cameos. Please bear in mind that this is entirely my opinion and that there are some who disagree with parts or all of my list. I just find it interesting that the director would sneak into the scene and I enjoy looking for him. If you know of any scene where I missed him, please let me know at the email below. Thank you!
ADDED March 7, 1999 - I have been able to communicate with an extra from the movie Titanic recently and this is what she said about the possibility of James Cameron having cameos in the movie:
"I went to your website and went through some of the things that you have listed. I must comment on one area that you have. Cameron cameos. As someone that was there and saw everything during filming, I will tell you in all honesty that he did not, anywhere, anytime, anyway appear in the film. The man that you think is him is from Mex. city and was one of us extras. He isn't even as tall as Cameron. The man that is combing his beard is Cameron's personal bodygaurd and a very good friend of mine. The man the spills the beer on Kate is a San Diego local and very good friend of mine as well. He is not in any of the 3rd Class dance. To put it bluntly all the rumors about this subject are not true. I was there and I know." Judy Prestininzi

1. In the opening scene, I believe he is the cameraman behind the old timey camera.

2. In the Southampton scene
  a. He is the man with the black beard and cap getting his beard checked for lice. COMING SOON: The Bearded Man Debate

3. As Jack and Fabrizio hunt for their berth you can see the character with
  the black beard and cap searching for his berth behind them - he follows
them down the hall and as they turn the corner. COMING SOON: The Bearded Man Debate

4. In the steerage dance scene
  a. As Fabrizio and Helga hook elbows to spin around, you can see him
  in the background between Helga and Fabrizio. He is not wearing
  the black beard this time - he looks like himself and he is holding
  the lapels of his coat and kind of bobbing up and down.
  b. I am pretty sure he is the immigrant that "spills" the beer on Rose
  and Jack pushes him away.
c. After Rose stands on her toes, you can see him off to the side
  laughing and talking to his friends.
5. At the steerage gate with Tommy Ryan, he is the black bearded man again
and as they open the gate he is one of the men that runs through. COMING SOON: The Bearded Man Debate
6. After the "You're so stupid" scene at the staircase, when Cal grabs
Lovejoy's gun, Cameron runs by in the background (black beard again). COMING SOON: The Bearded Man Debate
7. When Rose, Jack, Tommy, & Fabrizio run out onto the boat deck and Rose
says "the boats are gone!", as Jack runs to the rail to look over the
side, you can see Cameron climbing over a rail behind Jack and then
he runs across the screen. (no black beard - just himself)
8. When the last two lifeboats are being pulled off the officer's quarters
and one is turned over, he runs through the scene.
9. Right before Rose and Jack are going up the stairs behind the man saying
  that he is walking through the valley of the shadow of death, you can see
  Cameron behind Rose & Jack - he is carrying a suitcase on his head which
  I think was used to disguise a camera.
10. In the Heaven scene, as Rose walks up the staircase to Jack, you can see
Cameron standing at the top far right of the staircase.
11. When Jack and Cal are telling Rose to get in the lifeboat, Cameron comes by them

12. When Guggenheim is sitting in his chair waiting for the water to come, you can see the black bearded man behind him. COMING SOON: The Bearded Man Debate

13. James Cameron actually drew the picture of Rose so the hands you see are his. In the first shot, he has a bruise on his thumbnail that disappears after the first shot.
