NITRO REPORT/UnCensored preview and Predictions. 3-8-99. By: Rich Twilling. This week, I am going to give a short Nitro report, followed by a UnCensored preview and prediction section. Nitro began, and I mean for the first hour, with nWo ads including the new Wolfpac plan, Chris Jericho got ready for Saturn, Goldberg threatened David Flair, and the save was made by: Ric Flair? This led to an unexpected main event on Nitro. Read ahead for more, plus an UnCensored preview with a run around the rumor mill. In the first hour of Nitro, NO matches took place, but Hogan's long interview from Thunder reaired, Kevin Nash, Hogan, and Torrie met for dinner and discussed a new plan for David Flair, and then brought out a new woman, named Mrs. Robinson. She was told she would receive 20,000 dollars when she got the job done. Mean Gene had a scheduled interview with Goldberg, but was interrupted by David Flair and Torrie. They wanted Daddy Ric out there, but received Goldberg instead. Goldberg spoke of respect for the Flair family, but David decided to put his finger repeatedly in Goldberg's chest. Goldberg was about to dehead him when Ric made the save. The prez got a gorilla slam for his troubles. This led to the main event challenge and acceptance for later in the night. Raven, Bam Bam Bigelow, and Hak participated in a replica of their match at UnCensored, and they beat the crap out of each other. They were thrown into a limo, trash bin, and an ambulance, (lucky that was there). Also in the back, Jerry Flynn was offered money by Sonny Onoo, but was kicked in the back of the head by The Cat. They proceeded to cut his pony tail off. Kevin Nash and Hollywood joined Schiavone for commentary for the main event. Tony kissed major butt, despite the fact he talks bad about the Wolfpac every week. Nash was hilarious on the microphone. MATCH RESULTS: Hak vs. Raven ended in a double countout as both men fought to the back and were joined by Bam Bam. Chris Jericho defeated Lizmark Jr. with the liontamer in a warmup dog collar match. Scott Steiner with Buff Bagwell beat Booker T. with the Steiner recliner, with the aid of mucho outside interference by Bagwell. Rey Mysterio Jr. beat Scott Norton with a Ric Flair special, (kick in the jewels). Bret Hart defeated Van Hammer with the Sharpshooter. Although no annoucement was made, Goldberg beat Ric Flair by DQ after an nWo run in. Flair was no match for Goldberg, using low blows as his only effective offense. Goldberg tried to look hurt, but he really wasn't. The nWo was fought off by Goldberg and Flair, although they never cleared the ring. UNCENSORED PREVIEW AND PREDICTIONS: First of all, as of 3-9 at 2:04 West Coast Time, the Scott Hall/ Booker T. match is off because of the injury to Scott Hall's foot. This is disappointing because that was the best match on the card. Next, I saw it coming, but especially now after what Ric Flair has said and done this past week, I expect him to turn heel. He is turning into Bishoff with this power thing, and this whole," I am the best wrestler ever," thing is upsetting to fans. Finally, going against Goldberg is not a good idea. I heard Hogan might turn face, but I don't see that happening, at least not yet. MATCH PREDICTIONS: Hollywood Hogan vs. Ric Flair: WCW World Heavyweight Championship Steel Cage First Blood Match. Rich' pick: Ric Flair. Flair will win because Hogan doesn't have to do the job in a First Blood Match. Secondly, since Bishoff really runs the show, Flair can be the "permanent president" before he retires. Finally, if Flair turns heel, this would set up either Hogan winning the title back as a face, or Goldberg winning the title back. Barry Windham and Curt Hennig vs. Chris Benoit and Dean Malenko: WCW World Tag Team Title Lumberjack Match. Rich's pick: Benoit and Malenko Benoit and Malenko are better, plain and simple, plus they have been getting the push. Hennig and Windham never got their match with Hall and Nash, but they may down the road. Kevin Nash vs. Rey Mysterio Jr. Rich's pick: Kevin Nash Come on! You really think Rey will beat him again? No way. First of all, Big Sexy is too talented, and he won't do the job twice in a row. Chris Jericho vs. Saturn: Dogcollar Match Rich's pick: Saturn Jericho, to me is the best wrestler and performer in WCW, so he will get his title push no matter what. Saturn just has to lose the dress, and winning this match may do it. Raven vs. Hak vs. Bam Bam Bigelow: Triple Threat Extreme Hardcore Match. Rich's pick: Raven All three men are extreme, but none are as experienced as Raven in this type of match. Also, Raven will probably receive the first title push out of these three. The Cat and Sonny Onoo vs. Jerry Flynn. Rich's pick: The Cat and Sonny Onoo Two on one will eventually be why Flynn loses, but who cares? MORE MATCHES ADDED! Scott Steiner vs. Booker T. WCW World Television Title Match. Rich's pick: Booker T. As one may recall, Booker was supposed to challenge Scott Hall for the U.S. Title, which is a more prestigous belt. Booker was on a roll until he lost to both Buff Bagwell and Big Poppa Pump, although it took a two on one effort in both matches. I think Booker will win the title, and then go after Hall, and BBP will feud with Goldberg. Kidman vs. Mikey Whipwreck. WCW World Cruiserweight Championship Match. Rich's pick: Kidman I have never seen Whipwreck, but he has been receiving a lot of hype. This will be his WCW debut, and I don't see him beating a great champion like Kidman in his first match. However, I do see him winning the title in the future, and going back and forth with Kidman. Should be the most entertaining match on the card. Vincent vs. Stevie Ray: Winner gets total control of the nWo Black and White. Rich's pick: Vincent I think this will be one of those matches where the group (black and white) already know who they want in and who they want out. The loser is not out, but I feel the loser won't have a choice. Vincent has been nWo longer, so interference will help him get the victory. Stevie will be ambushed, and elect not to stay in the black and white, therefore leaving him to maybe reunite with Booker to reform Harlem Heat. Well, that's it for this week, see you later!
