Jacob arrived in Philadelphia on 26 Sep 1749, aboard the ship "Ranier". He sailed from Rotterdam and may have been an indentured servant who had to work for three years for his passage. Maria came to America aboard the "Nancy" and arrived on 16 Sep 1751. Their marriage is on record in the Parish Register, Vol I, of St. Michael's Lutheran Church in Germantown, PA.
