~ Les Croquignoles (Cajun Donuts)~



2 cups plain flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. nutmeg, grated
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
2 eggs, well beaten
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 Tbsp. oil
1/4 cup milk

Sift together all dry ingredients, except sugar.
Combine Sugar, eggs, oil, and the milk, Add to the dry ingredients.
Mix Well!
Knead on a floured board, Roll out to 1/2" (inch) thickness,
And cut with floured donut cutter, ( I use a small tuna can that has both ends cut out)
Cook in salad oil ( CONALA OIL ) at 375%F.
Until brown. Drain on brown paper or paper towels.
Sprinkle with powdered sugar, while still warm.

While growing up, this was a special treat, Still is!!
