You cannot pray, you say?
Your lips can find
No phrases to convey
Your humble mind
To One so all divine,
So all apart -
Ah, but you can, for God
Hears but the heart!

What is prayer? - Appreciation
And sincere evaluation
Of the finer things of life
Along the way.
It's a quality of living
With a Quanity of giving,
And a blessed sence of peace
At close of day.
It's believeing - and not grieving,
It's achieving; and recieving
With a thankful heart the blessings
God bestows;
It's the silent thanks inside you
When the grievances that tried you
Have been downed with patience, rather
Than with blows.
What is prayer? - A deep conviction
That belies all contradiction,
That no matter where you are
God, too, is there.
It's that quiet heart's awareness
Of the beauty and the fairness
Of this world of God's and our's -
That is prayer.
