- When you're on the set, you're in this bubble of people who live and work together. It's not too much like reality at all! But in general, my Grandma Joanne keeps me in line and I have to go to school and do boring stuff that all the kids have to do. In some ways being an actor is harder because you have to go to school, or get a tutor on the set, do your homework, take your hour of Phys-Ed. per day. Also learn your lines. And the time you spend on the set, a lot of which is 'down time' but you have to spend it signing pictures or doing interviews. I try to sneak calls to my friends, but usually I don't have the time. I love what I do, don't get me wrong, but it's hard work.

- I don't consider myself famous or better than anyone else.
- Well, you know, i just don't want to be the guy you look at on the cover of (teen) magazines. The guy you look at on the cover...to try to make people's hearts thorb. That's not me, even though I did do this thing in Japan where I was all in leather and it was so disgusting! I enjoyed doing it, but then when I thought about it, I was sick! I'd like people to take me seriously, whatever the hell I am.
- I'm really lucky. I love what I do and get paid for it. I'd do it for free if it was good.

- I did an impression of Elvis Presley when the crew of a kid's TV show were doing an interview with me at the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland. I kinda curled my lip, swiveled my hips and said, 'Thank you very much' in that deep Southern Elvis voice.

People on Brad
- Mali Finn (casting director)-The wonderful thing about Brad is that he combines both, you know, a toughness and a very sympathetic side. And that is what makes him unique.
- Susan Sarandon-Brad is full of surprises. I learned a lot working with him.
- J.J.Harris (his agent)-I'm afraid (that in LA) he'd fall in with some young actors who do all manner of illegal things, and that would be destructive. Being with his grandmother in a natural part of America is a healthier way to grow up.
- Geoff Widgor-He's very funny. We were always cracking jokes (on the set). He just goes nuts when he does his thing!
- Peter Horton-He does the best Jim Carrey impression of anyone I've ever seen. It's hilarious!
