There are many quotable moments from many different books but I have chosen the best of the best that truly make you think of the relationship between my favourite couple, Mara Jade and Luke Skywalker. Please read them.

"The other reason I came in person," Mara continued with some uneasiness, "is that occasionally- for some unknown reason- I almost look forward to seeing you, Skywalker. Not often....... but there are times."

Luke laughed. "Why don't you stay for a few more hours at least? We'll be gathering the trainess in the mess hall for an evening meal. You need something better than stale ration bars."
Mara acquiesced far more easily than Luke had expected. "All right," she said.
"Just a quick meal, then I'm out of here."

“Not quite,” a familiar voice answered dryly. “Are you in trouble again, Skywalker?”
Luke blinked first with surprise, then smiled with the first genuine pleasure he’d felt since arriving at this place. “Of course I am,” he told Mara Jade. “Have you ever known me not to be?”
“Incidentally, Jade, in case no one’s ever mentioned it before, you and Skywalker make a pretty good team.”
Mara gazed out at the drifint asteroids. “Bite your tongue, Faughn,” she said softly. “Bite your tongue.”

He grimaced. “You're not going to make this easy for me, are you?” he growled.
“Oh, come now,” she said mock accusingly. “When have I ever made anything easy for you?”
“Not very often,” he conceded. Visibly bracing himself, he reached over and took her hands again. “Mara...will youmarryme?”
“You mean if we get out of here alive?” Luke shook his head. “I mean regardless...”
“Yes,” she said. “I will."
Unfortunately it will be another two years until Timothy Zhan writes another Star Wars book so we will have to see if someone else can pull off their relationship so adeptly…
