Xena reached for her sword. Nothing. She stepped back in a defensive move but was struck down, hard.
Gabrielle woke up and reached for her staff.
"No need Gabrielle. I am not here to hurt either of you. Only to deliver you to your judgement."
Gabrielle helped Xena up. Niether knew what to do. They realized there was no use in fighting her. Caldonna pointed to a long boat.
"It's a long ride."
Xena and Gabrielle both got into the boat and Caldonna pushed away from the shore. Gabrielle looked back and saw that Caldonna wasn't paddling. The boat seemed to be moving on it's own.
Gabrielle began to scoot back and started asking questions. Xena reached for her but couldn't grab a hold.
"It's alright Xena. Gabrielle has the right to ask the questions. I shall answer anything."
With that Gabrielle began firing off the questions. Caldonna answered the questions as quickly as Gabrielle asked them. The last question Gabrielle caused the boat to stop.
Xena looked around and then back to Gabrielle who was looking over the boat in awe. Caldonna plopped down in the boat and crossed her arms.
"I really hate it when people ask that question."
Gabrielle looked up.
"You mean it's possible? A way off this boat? A way, back?"
Caldonna stood up and frowned.
"It won't be easy. I'm not sure it can be done. A challange can be made before the judge. If he accepts, a challanger is choosen. Even then you both might not make it. It all depends on the judge."
Gabrielle quickly stood up in the boat and boasted, "We both go. Or we both stay. Take us there Cally."
Caldonna tilted her head and looked somewhat disgusted. Gabrielle bowed her head. Caldonna shook her head.
"No one has called me that since, hmmm I can't remember how long. I've been here several lifetimes. Time has no meaning here."
"I'm sorry. I won't call you that again."
Caldonna smiled slightly.
"Gabrielle, you can call me that if you like."
