Arthur was born on February 04, 1891 somewhere in Ascension Parish on February 04, 1891 and died on September 05, 1958. He was the eldest son of Aurelius Absolom ORY
and Virginia Landry, the legitimate daughter of Adolph Laurent Landry and Telcide (Telcine) Bergeron. Arthur married the former Mary Ann "Anna" Brown on March 01, 1924. She was born on March 11, 1898 and died on March 11, 1985, the legitimate daughter of Robert Brown and Celestine Thibeau. Together they produced four children:
- Brunhilde Therese ORY;
- Marie Helen ORY;
- Ruth Agnes ORY, November 29, 1933;
- Arthur Joseph ORY, Jr., b. November 29, 1926.
I am Kevin D. Ory, the only son of Arthur Jr and the oldest of three children. Pictured below is the only picture my parents took with me and my grandparents (that I know of anyway). I was only a year old here and my grandfather would only live three more short years.

Arthur was a hard worker and went wherever the work happened to be. He was a good provider for his family, setting an example for all. For several years he lived and worked in the New Orleans area at the Celotex plant. During his off time he loved to go down to the French Quarter and listen to some Dixieland Jazz which was his favorite type of music. It has been long rumored in the family that he would go down there and listen to Edward "Kid" ORY, known today as the Father of Dixieland Jazz, who played the trombone and had his own band.
