Kobe Bryant is youngest player to play in the NBA All-star game.

Kobe's parents named him after a steak seen on a menu.

Kobe attended school in Italy and can speak fluent Italian.(at the time his father Joe "Jellybean" Bryant played professional basketball there)

At Lower Merion Highschool in Philadelphia, PA, Kobe started all four years of high school basketball. During Kobe's last three seasons he led his team to a 71-13 record. He averaged 31 points and 13 rebounds a game and scored 2883 points.(passing Wilt Chamberlain's mark in all-time highschool points in PA!)

During Kobe's senior year he got numerous awards. Here are some of his major ones:
-named Highschool player of the year by USA Today and Parade magazine
-Naismith Player of the Year
-Gatorade Circle of Champions High School Player of the Year
-named to the McDonald's All-American Team
