Black was, the day
twisting in the wind,
a hollow-hardened-heart was hanged
Cold was, the way, you threw your prettiest clothes away
Happiness, washed out by tears
don’t look back, with anger on those sacred years
contentment, replaced by shame
the clouds rolled in, and then the heartbreak fell like rain
Observe destruction, from afar
leave behind a piece of your heart
your reconstruction is a dream
behold the end of you and me
Like in a dream, I beheld the scenes
a slow motion matinee, played upon the silver screen
I saw the end approach, the pages scatter to the floor
The bridge was blown, the key was thrown, and then you
shut the door!
sleep now, rest your weary mind
you look for simple answers, the ones you never find
slow down, use your words with care
you wield those words like weapons
and leave no blades to spare
