devastation day

as you all know im in the baltimore area, which is well in between ny and dc. well i awoke this morning with the news that everyone now knows about. i sat and watched live as the plane collided with the second building. i sat and watched live as the towers crumbled. i heard on the radio live as the pentagon was flaming. i had goosebumps on my flesh hearing the words that can not nearly describe the pictures. driving home after skool let out early, one of those big traffic warning sigsn was lit up. it said
MAJOR PROBLEMS I95 NORTH.AVOID NEW YORK CITY AT ALL COSTS
and i thought of my friend who goes to nyu and lives in manhattan. i tried calling but all the circuits were busy. finally she emailed me. i hope she doesnt mind me posting it. i really can't say anything else right now. just let it all absorb...

"hi everyone, thanks for all your concern and stuff. all i can say is this is the most devastating thing i've ever seen in my whole entire life. new york is a war zone. the streets are empty, the people are in shock, there's a huge fucking hole in the skyline and nobody really knows what to make of it. it's very unnerving and frightening. i hope you all are ok. who know's what will happen next. not to scare you or anything. you can try my apartment number cuz my cell is not working. the number is : 212-473-****. hopefully things will be back to normal soon but i doubt it. i took some photos. it's unbelievable. i don't know what to say. i saw the towers this morning and 30 minutes later they were to the ground and all you can see now is downtown manhattan enveloped in a thick cloud of smoke and debris. i can't get any good news channels or info so i barely know what's happening elsewhere. we can only hope that george w. doesn't fuck this up too badly. aight, peace, felicia "
