April Bodin (2000)
April Bodin is a 2000 graduate of Abbeville High School and was the starting pitcher for the Ladycats in both 1999 and 2000. During these two years, she pitched the Ladycats to consecutive state playoff appearances. In 1999, she led the team to the quarterfinals of the class AAA state tournament. One year later, after a move up in classification, she pitched the Ladycats to a district runner-up finish and an appearance in the state playoffs. During her career at AHS, Bodin established herself as one of the best pitchers in the area, as she earned first team all-district honors in both her junior and senior seasons.
Bodin signed a scholarship to continue her softball career at Pearl River CC in Poplarville, Mississippi in the summer of 2000. She will pitch and also play in the outfield for PRCC coach Laurie Neelis in a program that is entering its first year of intercollegiate fastpitch softball.
